A Lovely House with a Garden in Helsinki

We sent an engineering team to Finland to demonstrate our technology. We had meetings both in Helsinki and near Hämeenlinna so the location of this cottage was ideal for getting around. The house was perfectly equipped for the team. We will definitely book again for our next trip.

We chose this property because we were traveling with 2 families and needed plenty of space and beds. This home accommodated our needs. The kitchen was large and well equipped. Everyone had their own beds. Very close to bus stops and a short walk to groceries and pizza restaurants. Communication with property owner/manager was excellent. The back patio was lovely and had seating for all of us. The backyard was private. Also, very close to walking trails.I would suggest a set of instructions to be left for renters. I was unsure about garbage/recycling and checkout requirements; however, owner was very quick to reply to messages. Also, there was no door knob or locking mechanism on the main floor shower/sauna room, which is right off the kitchen. Lastly, the blinds in some rooms were not working properly, mainly the shower/sauna room that faces the street.We had a great stay in Helsinki and very much appreciated the ability to utilize the buses from this location!

Great place. A bit far from town but on a good bus route. Comfortable house. Well equipped kitchen.

The house was well equipped in a quiet area. The wifi was good and the TV was a good size and had a sharp picture.No owner subscriptions to other streaming such as Netflix. The furniture was shabby in places and we could not find extra towels or linen if needed. The mattresses were poor, too soft especially upstairs.There were some broken door handles, a record player that jumped and a steep uneven spiral stair case that could have caused an injury. The bath had to be filled by a shower which was not over the bath directly and emtied directly into the shower drain. Downstairs the shower was in a general utility room with no lock on the door. The freezer for drinking water or ice did not work.There was only one set of keys ,more would have been better . There was no manuel to assist with practical house keeping such as kitchen equipment,rubbish collections or local information such as supermarkets or transport links. This though was given after asking the owner via email before we left but written instructions in English would have been better in the house as well There was no recommendations regarding sights to visits restaurants or cafes

Pekka was a very good host! He was there when I arrived getting ready for our stay since we were early! Everyone loved the uniqueness of the house and I especially loved the tub! I have never seen a tub so LARGE! Once we figured the bus routes, we were able to navigate down to city center! We really enjoyed Helsinki! If we ever come back, we will definitely stay here again!

Sauna didn’t work, basin in shower room cracked, no lock on door. Dirty dishes in dishwasher, old vegetables in fridge. No curtains/blinds in 2bedroons, no clothes storage in2 bedrooms. Very small 2nd double bed. No gas for BBQ. No information about rubbish/recycling.broken cupboard door, broken power outlet taped up but hanging off wall, broken coffee maker on kitchen floor. Every drawer full of owners possessions, owners clothes left in wardrobes. Overpriced for quality.not suitable for 10 as stated.
