Snow has arrived! Ice is thickening up on the lake. ICE FISHING is ON! kokanee are being caught as you read this!! book your weekend soon!
Rustic log cabin on popular Deka Lake! Clean and cozy, this 4bdrm/2bath gem of a house has a huge front deck where you can sit in the evening and enjoy the water views. Have dinner on the deck in any weather under the gazebo, and behind the mosquito netting (in case of mosquitoes!) Sit by the firepit or sit on the dock and enjoy the pristine waters of Deka Lake.
Beds for 9, plus we do have a spare single mattress and a blowup queen mattress if you need it. One bedroom on main floor (no stairs), three more upstairs.
Fireplace is propane - no lugging wood in when you get in late from hunting! The yard is large and mostly flat - perfect for bocce, horseshoes, or hanging out by the fire pit. Everything you need in the kitchen and linens/towels are supplied. BBQ on the deck as well!
There is satellite TV, Loads of movies for the DVD player, and WIFI so you can get a little work done while you're there.
Ask about parking an RV as well!
A well-behaved pet is ok. We want to accommodate your pooch - please be respectful so we can continue to allow pets!
In the summer, we have a 7day minimum-PLEASE BOOK SUNDAY TO SUNDAY. (it's all about the cleaning schedule) If you are wanting to book more than 7 days or if you cannot do Sunday, send me a message FIRST - sometimes we can accomodate! If you see a chunk of time available that isn't a full 7 days, contact me! If the cleaner is available, we can book it. Let's face it, we "prefer" 7days but we also don't want to turn you away :)
Off-season is a 3day minimum and can be any day
No restrictions on this lake means you can bring a pontoon boat, motor boat, or fishing boat. Water skiing and seadoos in the small part of the lake, while fishing is best at the back of the small lake or at Big Deka for the big lakers! It's a popular lake but never so busy where you feel crowded at all.
Summer: there are several kayaks and a paddle boat in the yard available for your use, but please bring your own lifejackets. The yard is great for outside games - there is a horseshoe pit and we have some outdoor games like bocce, Yardzee and badminton.
Enjoy the fire pit, there will be wood there for you, but make sure to check that there is no fire ban.
Have a boat We have a dock. There are many launches at the lake, there's a good one just past the house. Just let me know if you are bringing the boat so we can make sure to have a spot for you. Rainbow and Kokanee are stocked every spring. The Kokanee like pink lures in summer and we have had success with pink or green buzzbombs for Lake trout :)
Fall: HUNTING SEASON!! Lone Butte has a gun range, and the hunting is going to be great this year! Deer, moose, grouse, bear - come on up and stock up your freezer!
Winter: ICE FISHING! Deka and Sulphurous Lake are popular with ice fishing enthusiasts. Plenty of Kokanee and Burbot! I'm told they like green lures and maggots in winter :)
There are about a dozen pairs of Cross Country Skis that you can use! From a wee set that just straps onto regular boots for a smaller child to size 12mens!
Bring your snow toys and try out the many trails or make your own
Inside we have loads of board games and books, a dvd library, some puzzles, a cd player and a bunch of cds to entertain you :)
Kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, dinnerware, glasses...anything you would need is here. And if its not, let me know so I can get it! The stove is propane and there is a dishwasher and microwave, coffee pot, kettle, toaster, blender - there's even a panini press! You will find everything you need in the kitchen!
Beds for 9 plus 1 more- there is a spare single mattress that can be put on floor. There is room on the floor in the bunk room and in Master. I do have ablowup Queen and spare single mattress if you needed another- please let me know if you will have more than 9 ppl so I can have linens ready.
Parking for about 4/5 vehicles in winter, more in summer as you can park in the RV spot
RV Parking - if you needed more space/more people and you want to bring the RV - we can arrange that! There is a spot for the 30ft RV and electricity available. Sanidump is a couple miles away. The charge is $30/night for the RV and that would be payable separately. Contact me to arrange for RV.
MORE RV Parking: We have another property which can accomodate a larger RV as well. It is just on other side of lake, a 2min drive, if you need the extra space, let me know.

Lone Butte has a couple great coffee shops and restaurants plus LoneButte Sporting Goods where ALL your fishing and hunting needs will be met. Great trip with family. The house was awesome will all the amenities you would need.
This was our first visit to Deka lake and what a delightful lakefront venue. The sunsets from the deck became an evening highlight. The lake has many cabins yet was quite peaceful. The two story log house is well laid out and supplied and very comfortable for two couples plus. The decoration, touches, and furniture is lovely. There are many amenities including the dock, large lawn, extensive selection of books and dvd’s, well equipped kitchen. We were welcomed by our hostess Joanne, who provided us with guidance regarding boat launch access, weekend markets, where to obtain fishing equipment and general area information. We had an amazing stay and hope to return.
Just right for our adult family fun! Lakefront property with a sandy bottom lakeshore, great for swimming, floating and other water sports. Everyone, including the 2 dogs, enjoyed the large yard for lawn games, and the deck with its screened pergola for a bug free dinner. The cabin was older, but clean, cozy, and very well appointed. Will be back
Very nice location. Beautiful lake, great yard and excellent fishing (if you know what you're doing). Thanks again!
Was looking for a lake front property, no boat restrictions and could bring my dog. Halfway between family living northern bc and me on the coast. My son caught 3 fish. Laundry made packing up to go home much easier. Paved highway almost entire way. Was everything and more than we hoped for. So glad i picked this one. Fast responses from host. Loved it
Nice lake house well stocked with everything you need. Really nice host.
We had an amazing get away vacation. Kids loved the backyard, where they spent most of the time building snowman. The house was nice and cozy and we are planning to get back sometime in future.
The cabin is very comfortable and many nice extra touches to make it even better. Cozy blankets, books, DVDs, games, kayaks, and more. The check-in/out instructions are simple and easy to follow. Kitchen has all the essentials and then some. Owner was very good at communication and quick to respond to any questions. There is a lovely house manual that answers any questions you might have. Hot water had a bit of a sulfur smell but the cold tap water had no odour and tasted great. The carpeting and carpeted stairs were super comfy and a huge bonus with 2 toddlers running around. We would definitely stay again. Thanks!
Great place on the lake with everything you need. Joanne was extremely helpful and made sure we were ready for our stay. The weather was great and the fishing was excellent. We will definitely be back!
Joanne was an excellent host. Easy communication. We loved the property and the large deck for gathering. 2 lawn games at the same time and access to 5 kayaks made for lots of fun. The kitchen was well equipped and beds comfortable. We were very happy with this find.
Wonderful stay. Our family enjoyed it and hope to rebook again. You get so much for the money, beautiful view and wonderful lake.
Had a great time on our family holiday! Kayaking, swimming, paddleboat, snorkeling, bocce ball in the big yard, fishing (well we tried - fish didn't cooperate), Well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, great deck, lots of room to do everything! We would absolutely go back - thanks Joanne and Len!!
Beautiful property with a great layout for two families to enjoy. We will be back next year!
Stayed in July 2022. No complaints here. Joanne and Len were excellent hosts. Appreciated access to the kayaks, adult life jackets and firewood . Also a very child friendly and safe environment. Home was fully stocked and equipped. Well above what we had expected, will be going again next year....
Highly recomend . A really good experiance
Great week's stay at Deka Lake July 10-17, 2022. with 2 grandparents, 4 adults & 4 grand-munchkins enjoying warm summer weather @ this location. Comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen with plenty of dishes & dishwasher added to our comfort. Very large water-facing deck with plenty of sitting & eating options.& also large screened-in gazebo. Safe swimming from dock with lots of minnows for the grands to scoop & release. Red fox & flock of 8 ducklings were also visitors. A very pleasant summer's stay here.
A wonderful spot to unwind in a peaceful, exquisite environment. We had deer walking in the garden, eagles soaring overhead, a Loon catching a fish and a nap on the lake, a determined resident Mallard that visited dialysis and entertained us. The dog had a safe garden to romp around. Children were happy and had a safe place to enjoy the lake and all it offers. We plan to return some time soon. Thank you Joanne and Len!
