If you are seeking an authenic rural residential Greek island experience, then Anemousa will not disappoint you. We woke to sounds of sheep and goat bells, donkeys braying, roosters crowing, vespers and on Sundays the chime of Greek Orthodox church bells and the chanting of the liturgy. Positioned upon a ridge, the beautiful little stone cottage is blessed with magnficent views on both sides to the west and eastern coasts and you can enjoy both sunrises and sunsets. The hosts give you as much space or support as you need. Inside, the cottage is beautifully appointed with rural simplicity. It has everything you need for preparing your own meals. However, it is also a short walk down to Lakki to enjoy a coffee or meal there and Lakki has one of the best fruit and vegetable shops we have ever seen. If you want to explore the island you will need a car and there is a lot to explore and enjoy including many pristine beaches. If you enjoy sailing, are active and comfortable with boats and the sea, I encourage you to ask about a day trip on board Simone Marchi's beautiful little yacht Lolita. We booked two trips and were delighted with the experience. We sailed to the nearby island of Archangelos and on the first day swam to shore to enjoy a meal at the only taverna on the island. The second trip we were treated to a delicious octopus salad prepared by host, Alexandra. Our three-week stay created a life time of memories for us and we will definitely return.

As somebody wrote before you shoudn' t tell here about it....Natural climatic construction, puristic style with stylish wood furniture, lamps, creative arrangements and Alessandra, Luigi and her sons are super hosts! Place between the sea. One side Turkey, on the other side you see Armorgos. The terrasse is in direction west and is surrounded by olive trees and rosmarin bushes and last but not least normally by some hungry cats and one dog. Very calmful place to relax. Specials: After a motorbike trip to the left when you leave the house of max. 10 minutes you can hike 20-25 min to a hidden beach Ormos Gournes. All together...we' re enjoyed it very much! Thx to our super hosts from Becci & SIGGi

The house was beautiful and the family who own it were so helpful and friendly. It’s a hilly island and you need to hire a vehicle to get around. We couldn’t have wished for anything more from this amazing accommodation,

We were here in September 2020 and enjoyed the place from the moment we came here. The 360 degree sea view to two sides from the property is superb. The house has a great natural ventilation, so AC is not needed (in fact, there is fan but we never used it). It was great to sit and relax and eat on the terrace (with Gourna bay underneath in the distance) and the occasional mule singing/howling in the valley. However, you shouldn't be paranoid about cats and dogs. They came over from Alexandra's house next door quite frequently. The dog (we called him Vlokatis) was easy-going, one of the cats (the white one) was challenging at times. Supermarkets in Lakki and on the main road to Lakki are within a 15-minute-range by car, so is one sandy beach (Gourna), and one bathing plateau (half-way between Lakki and the War Museum, facing the notiorious derelict insane asylum. Should we return to Leros, Luigi's and Alexandra's place will be our first choice! Thorsten & Linda from Berlin, Germany

We’ve had the best stay at Alexandra & Luigi’s house with our 6 month baby. I’d really prefer to keep this a secret since we loved it so much but Alexandra has been so nice to us that I owe it to her to let the world know how wonderful is her house, so tastefully decorated with boat material and a lovely terrace overlooking the valley and the sea. We didn’t get to meet Luigi who was at sea at that time but he was very nice and helpful too through his messages. We are so looking forward coming back.
