The good: My family enjoyed our stay on Beaver Lake. The house was roomy, had beautiful views, and easily met our needs. The dock for our boat was excellent and located very close. Our host, Dick, was responsive, attentive, and friendly. The not so good: The biggest drawback was the cleanliness of the place. The house was great in every way but for that. We had a crawling baby in our group and after a short while on the floor, her hands and feet were black. There were also numerous spots on the carpet. The bathrooms had hair in the sinks and on the floors, and various spots that we cleaned up before using. It really didnt look like it had been cleaned before we moved in. The pool table also had 2 bumpers on it that were broken making it unplayable. It would have been fun to use but wasn't that big of a deal. The place would have easily gotten a five star rating if not for those two issues. It's a beautiful place in a beautiful setting but definitely needs a good, deep cleaning. We would consider staying again if this was addressed.
Mr Kelsey was very nice. Good - location was great for our purpose of motorcycle riding for BBBQ. Beautiful surroundings. Great patio for evening gathering. Quiet and serene. Huge house was perfect.for 8 of us. Plenty of room. Big garage great for 5 bikes and use of golf cart was nice. Bad - house was filthy. Carpets stained. Hadn’t been dusted for some time. Toilet in master bath had blood stains and soap film in shower was bad. Drain in basement shower backed up to the point people were standing ankle deep in water. Kitchen and bathroom floors had not been swept or cleaned in some time. We found open bags of food in cabinets, old items in fridge. It is a great house but the lack of cleanliness would keep us from staying again. Needs considerable updating, a coat of paint and a seriously thorough cleaning.
Mr. Kelsey is one of the most accommodating managers we have ever had. The House was very clean and he checked in with us to make sure we had everything needed to make our stay memorable.. Mr. Kelsey observed at check in we were going to be cramped because of my own mistake of county rooms and offered an additional cabin for us. I would recommend this property manager to anyone looking for a family get away. Pastor Kelsey is a very hard working man of his word and a pleasure to visit with.
We had a great family vacation. Dick was an excellent host. Would stay there again if were ever in the area.
Have to say was a great view trip and home
The house is spacious and includes a beautiful view of Beaver Lake. It also comes with dock access and kayaks/life preservers and a golf cart to get up and down the hill to the lake. The host, Dick Kelsey, is friendly and very accommodating. We had three adults and three children (one family of four had to back out due to Covid) and we had more than enough room. The kitchen is barely adequately stocked with utensils; we bought a large plastic bowl because there wasn't one. As another reviewer noted, the house is not clean, both at the deep and surface levels, especially in the main living spaces. It would be great to see it deep cleaned at least once a year, especially considering all the traffic it gets.
We rented 2 of Mr Kelsey's properties that were located fairly close together. The living/dining area was spacious enough we ate our meals together at this house. The view is beautiful! The golf carts were a hit!
Celebrated our 40th anniversary with our family. There was enough room for everyone. Dick was a great host, and we loved being able to use the pontoon boat when we wanted too. The house was the perfect size for the 9 of us, although there was room for more. The golf cart provided made it super easy to get to the dock. Beautiful view of the lake.
The place is large enough to host a large family. Everyone in our group had a bed to sleep in. However, the cleanliness was disappointing. We had to clean the refrigerator inside and out, kitchen appliances before we used them and the carpets, fans and furniture lacked cleaning in what looked like a long time. I had rented the house for a family gathering and was embarrassed by the home upon arrival. In fact, my brother who arrived at the house first called and told me to buy cleaning products on the way in. This is not something I want to do on my vacation. We contacted the owner about the issue and he came to the house and offered a small concession and offered for us to use the house one more night. We could not do that due to timing. We suggested the home needed a serious deep clean. The garage is cluttered, trash not removed from garage, bath mats in master were falling apart we had to remove them, windows and door screens very were dirty and outside patio furniture needed a deep clean before we could use them. The sheets and towels were clean and smelled fresh, We used the pontoon one afternoon and the owner was very kind and showed us everything we needed at the dock.
The kitchen pantry was stocked with all the extra you would need. The owner, Dick, was extremely helpful and even invited the kids to come next door to jump on his trampoline. I wish the weather would has been better so that we could have used the pantoon and other water things. The six bedrooms only slept 14 with a couch in the rec room that could sleep 2. There were also two extra mattresses in the closets.
