Mount Desert, Maine
Tallboys is a two story family home that offers three bedrooms. Bedroom one has a full sized bed and a twin bed. Bedroom 2 has a king sized bed. Bedroom 3 - the master - offers a queen sized bed. All bedrooms and a full bath are on the second floor. The main floor has a kitchen, dining area, laundry room, mudroom, den, living room, and full bath. It offers two large flat screen televisions (55" and 42'). The basement is partially finished as a 'man cave', which has a half bath, ping pong table, and gaming setup. Tallboys has a two car garage and a deck out back that is attached to a storage building. This includes a fire pit and lots of wood! This is wonderful because of the privacy offered and the view of the wooded ledge. It is not rare to see wildlife from this location (not bears!). There is a paved yard with a basketball hoop for kids (or kids at heart!). This home is set up with the following amenities: ironing board, laundry, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, toaster oven, blender, wireless internet, phone, and air conditioning in the master bedroom and in our daughter's bedroom. We have a heat pump downstairs that cools the living room and dining areas. The den has a separate air conditioner as well. There is an extra refrigerator in the mudroom. Our home is in the village of Northeast Harbor, close to the grocery store, shops, the school, Neighborhood House, church, the marina, and the Island Explorer (free public transportation). Our property borders the golf course and is a short distance from the Tennis Club (private club).
Beautiful house. Very spacious for our family of 6. The owners are really nice and our stay was excellent.
This home was spacious, well equipped and clean. It was very comfortable for our family of 5 including 3 college-age kids. It is located in Northeast Harbor, which is a cute, small town. It is a lot quieter than Bar Harbor (and that is a good thing!) Acadia is very accessible from here - the park bus system has two routes that run into the main part of the park, or you can drive your car. The parts of the park near Southwest Harbor are a short car ride away. Access to the carriage roads is only about a mile away from NE Harbor, where we rented bikes. We had a great stay!
