Darien, Georgia
Frog Hammock has an open plan common area with a barstool counter in the fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, and front and rear sitting/ living rooms. One bedroom has a private bathroom with a shower. The other two share a bathroom with tub off of the common area. There is a laundry room with washer/dryer. There is a front porch with a glider to enjoy the Live Oak.
Here is a private review we received.."We had a wonderful time and felt right at home. The "seclusion" was right there within the city limits. Lots of places to enjoy the wildlife and for fishing. The neighbors were friendly, but allowed us our privacy. We hope to live in or around Darien someday (after retirement). The art in your place was wonderful. The azaleas were beautiful. Thank you for sharing." Dolly and Edward
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is close enough to easily access anything you want to do in the area but just off the beaten path enough to disconnect as well. If you like coffee, there is a set up for you from French Press to Keurig- that was a great surprise!
The property was clean. It is what it looks like. A nice older home and was good for our stay in Darien. We were up early, left to fish all day. Returned and cleaned up, went to dinner, back to the property to relax on the screen porch. Then we retired to comfortable beds in a well cooled room. We will say the area around the property was not what we expected. The crab man, a very nice man, runs his business out his home. A fish/crab odor is very prevalent. But hey, we were there to fish and the cats were fun to watch.
Clean and great price in downtown Darien.
Each year 2 other moms and I take ALL the kids on a post-swim season vacation and this property fit our needs perfectly! It was clean, comfortable, and convenient. The kitchen was well stocked so meal prep for our crowd was no issue. We even did a crab boil with the provided gas cooker! We went to the beach on St. Simons Island (about 25min away), visited the lighthouse, WWII Homefront museum, and Ft. Frederica. We were also close enough to go spend the day on Jekyll Island and see the Sea Turtle Center and Driftwood beach. The property is secluded, tucked away down a small side street off the main road, and surrounded by gorgeous trees and plants. (Be sure to pack bug spray!)
Great location for our itinerary charming fishing town good local food, excellent host will visit again!
