Beautiful setting in the countryside. Rooms were spacious and we loved early mornings in the hot tub. Everyone had a go at ping pong and there was plenty of room for playing games. Two fridges in the kitchen were a plus!
We would come again! Very beautiful and we didn't want to leave
Property is really great if you're looking for something a bit out of the way. Culpepper is still only around 30 minutes away, and has several great options for food or entertainment. We preferred to walk the trail on the property and simply enjoy each others company, and the property was excellent for that. Would certainly reccomend.
Twin Ponds is even better than listed. Very spacious with everything you need in the kitchen. Private tennis courts and walking path are super fun. Would stay again!
We had a wonderful time at the Twin Ponds House. We spent the day in Shenandoah and then the evenings in the hot tub and around the fire. The kitchen was wonderfully large for our big group, just wish it had a few more basic kitchen items like foil/plastic wrap etc. The living and dining areas were also great though we spent most time outside. Beds were comfortable, but it does get chilly at night!
I loved my stay at Twin Ponds. The location was extremely private and Serene. Castleton is about 15 minutes from the nearest town, so the area is a bit isolated. For me that is a good thing. I wanted some privacy and quiet, and the area is beautiful rolling hills, mostly unpopulated. But with that said, you can drive 5 minutes up the road to the Laurel Mills General Store, and they have most basics available to you in terms of food and other supplies. If you want a restaurant or a bigger store, it's about a 15 minute drive to one of the nearby towns. The house itself is spacious and comfortable. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms where occupants can sleep comfortably and privately. Very large kitchen which is well appointed. I did not do any cooking, but everything you need for meal preparation is there. Some people have commented that the internet and TV service can be a little spotty in bad weather. The weather was good when I was there, so I did not experience that. The internet and television were fine. The living room / TV area has a excellent big screen TV for those who want to relax and watch some TV programming or stream netflix, Etc. The check in and check out were very easy. On the way in you have to stop by the main office and pick up the key. But that only took a minute, and the office is only about half a mile from the house. All in all, I enjoyed my stay and I would not hesitate to stay there again
This is a very nice property. We would definitely go there again
There were 6 of us ranging in ages 3 to 70 and 2 pups. Everyone had their own bedroom and bath. Plenty of space! The home was perfect. It was clean, neat and everything you could think of was there. We just had to bring our own food and seasonings which I prefer. We made day trips to Luray caverns, Va Safari park and historicial Winchester for the Civil War Museum, Stonewall Jackson and George Washington's headquarters and Patsy Cline's house. The corner grocery store was amazing along with the farm animals on the property. Restaurants were very good, but a little drive to get to them. We made it special every night going someplace different. We had a few questions and Connie Payne answered each one quickly. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. We didn't turn on tv once while we were there as we spent them time talking about what to do and what we did. Our family will rent this place again. Many thanks to Connie and her husband for being so wonderful!
This was a bachelor party hike of old Rag, great house to stay in for that
Incredibly beautiful property. Very peaceful and comfortable stay. Highly recommend. If you plan to cook, plan to pack seasonings like salt and pepper.
