For the 4th year my family of nine and I stayed at a place owned by Vermont Escapes. This year we chose the historic Rideout in Weston. With 6 bedrooms and bathrooms we had plenty of room. The teenagers especially loved the game room and hot tub. We, however, chose to plant ourselves in front of the wood burning fireplace. The house is more than adequately stocked with linens and essentials for cooking. We were able to monitor the thermostats to our liking which provided for a comfortable temperature. The house is clean and well maintained. Firewood was in great supply and on the first day the hot tub maintenance man cleaned the tub. David is but a phone call or text away. We always have peace of mind when renting from him that all will be taken care of. We hope to return to the Rideout next year.

We were a family of 8 and stayed at the house for Thanksgiving. The house was perfect, clean, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for all of us. Lovely sitting room with comfortable seating and fireplace. The house was very well stocked with dishes, cookware, etc. We did bring our own wine glasses, which was helpful. It was nice to walk to town to Vermont Country Store, and a few other shops, and there is a pretty park across the street. We would definitely stay again!

The house has a interesting lay out , but was clean and comfortable . A little shy on glassware for a large group and limited parking. No wine glasses anywhere. But 2 different coffee makers and lots of towels. Well managed and centrally located in Weston, you can walk everywhere. Enjoyed our stay very much !

5 couples reunited for a weekend at Rideout. It was a perfect home for our purpose. We loved the house with its historic charm and meandering floorplan. The open kitchen, living room and dining room were comfortable for the whole group. A random drawing was needed for room assignments since the largest master suite was very impressive! While we chose Rideout as a size match for the group that was meeting, an unexpected bonus was the Vermont Country Store within walking distance. Most of us were familiar with the catalog and never expected to actually visit it! All around good rental experience for what turned out to be a great weekend.

Overall this was a wonderful home that feels cozy and with a lot of space! Location is good, there’s a good selection of places to visit nearby or mountains to go ski. My only real concern was that it can be quite icy getting up the hill to the parking/garage.

Our weekend stay at this home was fantastic. The spacious common areas gave us plenty of room to gather, whether we were enjoying a lazy morning coffee, playing board games late into the night, or simply unwinding after a day of skiing. David, the host, was exceptional—always quick to respond and even went out of his way to provide extra kitchenware to enhance our cooking experience. His hospitality truly stood out. If you’re looking for a place that combines thoughtful design, true hospitality, and a cozy atmosphere, look no further. Highly recommend!

We had a group of 16 people, 8 adults and 8 children with plenty of room to move around and enjoy the living spaces. It was very clean and everything worked great. We skied at Okemo which was a 15-17 minute car ride. After a long day of skiing we sat next to the fireplace (he supplied plenty of firewood) and watched the NFL football playoff games. I highly recommend this house for a ski trip.

We recently had a family trip to Vermont while staying at this wonderful home! Weston Vermont is one of our favorite towns to visit when in Vermont. The home is conveniently located in Weston, close to the Vermont Country store. The handbook included in the welcome email made it easy to find and park when we arrived. Our stay here was exactlly as we wanted it to be. The home was just as decribed and exceeded our expectations! We especially loved the large Master Bedroom with wonderful views (there was a nearby large lit Christmas tree) and a large working fireplace. We had a group of 14 people and everyone had a place to sleep comfortably with a bathroom for each bedroom. The house was well stocked with just about everything we needed including firewood, pots & pans, utensils, towels, etc. Even popcorn was supplied! It was very clean and orderly when we arrived with plenty of infomation available if we needed something. We would definately visit again!

We were a large group of adults, teens and tweens and this house was perfect for our vacation! There are so many private nooks to have some alone time along with a great open family room and kitchen area to come together. We loved its charm, its coziness and variety of spaces. David was great to work with and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend and book again.

We all had a nice stay.. All families enjoyed their stay with ample amounts of space to live, cook, eat and sleep . The kitchen was equipped with ton of kitchen utensils and other items made our life easier to cook . The place as really looked historic with all interiors , with few initial hiccups like thermostat not working and we have to swap and or charge to make it work few times as we enter the living room was super cold. Otherwise all is well. Worth for thr money we paid. Thanks Dave for being a super host, who helped me through out the stay before and during and after with a quick response for all my messages.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this large, comfortable home in Weston! Our group totaled 10 people from 4 different families and there were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. The house had everything we needed to prepare and serve meals, including a grill. While the home is older, it was clean and everything was in good working order. We saw a show at the prestigious Weston Theatre and had a fun day at nearby Okemo Resort. Vermont is beautiful in the summer and our stay at The Historic Rideout couldn't have been better!
