Stayed Jun 25, 2026We had an amazing stay at this Twin Hills Road home in Maine! The house was cozy, and exactly as pictured — perfect for our family. Location was peaceful but still close to everything we wanted to see. What really blew us away was the hospitality. I accidentally left an item behind after checkout, and the host Jonathan went above and beyond to ship it back to me quickly. That kind of after-service is rare and so appreciated. Highly recommend this place. We felt welcomed, cared for, and would absolutely stay again. Thank you!

Stayed Sep 26, 2025Large house with many rooms. Accommodates large groups with ample beds. Has a rustic feel. Although it served our purpose for one night stay and had plenty of parking.

Stayed Jun 21, 2025This home matches the description provided. It has plenty of beds and bedrooms for a large family to stay here. Its location just off Route 1 makes it very convenient to get to Ellsworth's Main Street. We stayed there while visiting Acadia National Park. The beds were a little too firm for my taste. Each room has a portable AC unit and worked well to keep the house cool, but were fairly loud in their operation. The kitchen was adequate with lots of dishes available for a large family. Overall, the house has a camp feel to it with paneled walls in the living room. Communication with the host was minimal, but we didn't really need much assistance.

Stayed Jun 14, 2025We had a great week. Jon (the host) was amazing, responding to every question, typically within minutes. For a large group of mostly adults, sleeping arrangments were a bit of a challenge. Despite listing a capacity of 20, there are only enough beds for 13. The rest were on air mattresses. This would probably be OK for groups with smaller kids? The kitchen was fairly well stocked, but seating for large groups is very limited. Overall, we had a great time hanging out at The Maine House during our trip to Acadia and the surrounding area.
