Stunning water views worthy of a postcard from every room in this restored carriage house and separate guest house. Available for rent separately or together. Nature trails, multiple beaches and 4,200 feet of shoreline to explore on this 52 acre property. Access to a shared dock and two moorings.

The house is at the end of the island known as Crabtree Point. It is about a 10-15 minute drive from the town of North Haven where you'll leave the ferry. You may not want to leave the property but if you do, the 3 x 9 mile island boasts beautiful views in all directions.
Although August is a popular month, June and July are absolutely stunning on North Haven. The weather is warm and wild flowers are in bloom everywhere you look. September and October retain the warmth of the summer but the island gets quieter. North Haven remains a wonderful place to relax, enjoy nature and do exactly what you want to do with your days and nights. Experience a truly relaxing vacation in one of Maine’s most beautiful, preserved and private locations.

The Maine state ferry makes three one-hour trips to and from Rockland daily. Cars are permitted on board the ferry.

Where to begin--without saying indescribable. First there are the magnificent views across Penobscot Bay, northeast to the hills that rise behind Camden, southwest to open ocean. Then there are the walks through wildflower meadows, through fragrant stands of tall firs and along pristine rocky beaches --- all without leaving the property. There is the home itself, beautifully appointed, and set among vibrant gardens and artistic granite stonework. And finally there is the serenity that pervades the property, in glittering sunlight and even more in mist and fog. In sum: a dream vacation retreat.

I spent 4 wonderful days at Crabtree Cottage in August 2014. It is an idyllic setting and home, and an escape from the hustle and bustle. Growing up, I spent summers in the Adirondacks, and North Haven reminded me of my childhood a little bit. I loved getting up early and taking my coffee and book to the chairs set out on one of the Points. There are trails throughout the property for walking or running. The 2 terraces are great for relaxing and watching the boat traffic pass by. It was a very relaxing, fun trip and I can't wait to return in August 2015!
