After a harrowing attempt to get through Vermont's flooding, my family was so grateful to find this place to stay at the end of our long day. The property is lovingly cared-for, thoughtfully appointed, clean, and comfortable. Phil is a welcoming and communicative host. We were appreciative of the location, which is within easy walking distance of ice cream, the harbor, and a restaurant. We'll gladly book again!
Super easy to work with owners. They were very hospitable and this place is a great find for the area.
We had a terrific stay
I'll start with Phil, the host. Phil was excellent to work with. He gave me so much information beforehand about the operational aspect of the property and what needed to done when we got there it made our stay a breeze. He was very communicative, friendly and helpful. Onto the house, Don't expect a fancy boujey inside or outside. What you get is an updated, nicely decorated, clean, super comfortable and cozy vacation home. We had everything we needed and more. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy it more! if I get back up that is where i will stay. Thank you so much Phil!
I went here with my family for some work I had to do in the area. I loved the house and so did my teenage girls. None of us had any complaints. Phil was great, he went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and gave us tons of information on things to do in the area and places to eat. We were there during a heat wave and Phil was concerned that the house would be to hot so he came by and installed an air conditioning unit for us. He truly went above and beyond. The WiFi was excellent, good water pressure, and no bugs inside the house. I highly recommend this house, if I am in the area I will definitely stay here again.
Our previous reservations were cancelled and we found this as a quick alternative. This was not a vacation for us as we needed to work while away. Cell service non-existent. Wifi / internet was spotty. Front steps, etc. hadn't been swept since winter ( it appeared), and carpenter ants were everywhere inside the home.. bathroom door squeaked loudly, and water pressure was much to be desired. If you're staying for vacation and using it to enjoy the surrounding area, it's an average accommodation at best. Great if you have young children as the lake is right there, and ice cream stand within walking distance.
My family stayed at this property over the Memorial Day long weekend. The property is only a few minutes away from a small ( 5 meters long) public beach with crystal clear water, 10 minutes from the big public beach and the ski resort. Location-wise, it's great. Our hosts were very helpful in their suggestions for boating and beaches. They were also very responsive to my questions. The property is a charming old house. The hosts can improve the property by cleaning the carpet and the toilet. Families with small children might have a bit of a problem with the shower, as the showerhead is fixed on the wall. You would have to hold the kid up while giving him a shower so that the kid won't freak out because of the water in his face like small children often do. Overall, our family had a great time in this historical house and would recommend this property, especially for adult visitors.
We enjoyed our stay here very much! The house had plenty of room, good amenities, a great location, and the hosts were very good with communicating. We were there to ski at Mt Sunapee which was less than 5 min away and perfect. There was also a great restaurant a short distance away from the house that we enjoyed. I think in the summer this would be a beautiful spot to enjoy the lake and surrounding mountains.
Wonderful time. Great for a lake visit or trip to Sunapee.
This is a charming cottage steps from the lake and minutes to the mountain. Phil is hospitable and communicative ensuring we had everything we needed. We'll certainly be back.
