The house is centrally located and has a great layout for a family with kids (grownups upstairs and kids in the basement!). The house was exactly as described, and felt very clean. I really appreciated all of the information that the homeowner left for us about the house and the area. We loved it!
This was a great home for our family trip to the Cape. We traveled with 8 teens/adults and the home was a good fit. The outdoor space (deck, yard, and proximity to the beach) was perfect for us. We loved the yard games, fire pit, and outdoor shower. The house had everything that we needed and was what we expected per the listing. The only two things that would have made our stay more comfortable were if there were more storage for food in the kitchen and if the beds were more comfortable. The beds were VERY soft and uncomfortable. New mattresses and a larger bed in the upstairs bedroom with the full bed would make this home even better. Overall, we had a great stay and enjoyed the home.
The vacation rental was exactly as presented on the website. We truly enjoyed our time here. The air conditioning was great both upstairs and downstairs. The dishwasher, washer and dryer worked great. There are no linens, but Kathy was able to connect us with a linen service since we were flying in from Arizona. The directions were also great, easy to find, but a very private location.
Perfect property for a getaway. Spacious and many comfortable sleeping options. Beautiful yard and close to the beach. The owner is very responsive and helpful.
We enjoyed our stay at Kilbarry by the Bay. The house had everything we needed. Short walk to Campground beach and easy drive to National Seashore beaches. The outdoor shower was a nice plus!
There are definitely nice features about this house--for example, the dining area and living room have attractive and comfortable furniture, and the kitchen has nice glasses and dishes that look relatively new. But the kitchen itself is long overdue for a renovation (beat-up lower cabinets, badly scratched kitchen floor, old appliances), and the cabinets are so filled with tired pots, pans, and plastic serving dishes that there was no place for us to put any of the dry goods we brought. More important, the ground floor is really a basement, and despite the strong-smelling room fresheners in the queen bedroom, the smell of mildew was evident and became particularly strong whenever we turned off the air conditioner. The dehumidifier in the laundry area could not dehumidify the entire ground floor, and it clearly doesn't prevent mildew. We were especially troubled by the mildew since one of us has a serious lung condition and shouldn't be sleeping in a room with mildew. We were both surprised and disheartened that a house costing nearly $4000 a week for rent plus fees would have these problems. We have rented many houses in Eastham over the years, and we've never encountered these issues before.
This property has great outdoor space with a fire pit and hammock, and it felt like we were nestled among the trees while in the living room. It felt quiet and secluded which was a nice escape for us city dwellers, and is a quick walk to a lovely bay beach. Thoughtfully equipped with everything you might need, indoors and out.
We loved the homey atmosphere with nooks for quiet time and large open spaces for family time. Enjoyed fire pit for s’mores and large deck for outside meals. A well stocked kitchen and lots of sand toys, chairs and bikes for recreation. Kathy was very attentive to issues and questions. We thank you for sharing your delightful home and would definitely return.
We enjoyed our stay at this property. Kathy the owner was very kind and gentle, she was proactive at answering back to us. The house, located in a calm neighborhood, is in good condition and very clean.
Overall, just what we needed for our family of 11.
