There is only one fitted stairgate which is the staircase off the lounge. The other staircase that leads from the kitchen/ dining room at the rear of the house does not have a stairgate.

East Portlemouth sits opposite the popular town of Salcombe which is easily accessed from this stunning property via the passenger ferry 280 yards away. The village itself has a café, the fabulous Port Waterhouse, with pop up dining events and a bar open seasonally, along with being home to Salcombe paddle boarding, the village also boasts some fabulous sandy beaches along with direct access to the South West Coast Path- very scenic coastal walk or a mile along the Devon lanes takes you to The Gara Rock Hotel, serving delicious food with some of the best scenery a restaurant could provide, plus a spa and cinema room. The nearby village of South Pool also boasts a gastro pub, the Millbrook Inn.
