5 Bedroom Beachwalk Resort w/ Golf Cart & Pool Access

our time together with our grown children and their family was nice. we truly like the house, amenities and community. The home was very spacious and comfortable. Our only issue is the cleaning service. We know that the place was cleaned as we saw the lady leave as we arrived however the floors were NO WAY cleaned. we found multiple items laying around and our socks and feet were BLACK after only being in the home for 2.5 hours. when bringing children that crawl it is very important that floors are cleaned. We just wanted to bring this to your attention for the future since guests pay for cleaning services. thank you

WiFi was spotty so it made it difficult to get online easily. Cookware was limited and old with no wine glasses but room layouts were great but would have liked a bigger kitchen table especially since it housed more people.

Overall, the Beachwalk resort is great. The amenities are nice, lots of options to choose from and a great beach on Lake Michigan. But the Captiva House was okay. Pros: the house is modern, nice deck, back porch, lots of space and a nice fire pit area. Cons: the house is in the very back of the resort, far from amenities, and dirty. It was clear the floors hadn’t been mopped in quite a long time as the bottom of our feet turned black from just walking around the house, the carpet in the basement is matted down with dirt. In general the house needs a deep clean, shower curtains were grimy, bathroom, rugs, they were all dirty. The home has not been deep cleaned in a long time. The owner’s clutter was shoved into corners, closets, cupboards, etc. The other downside to Beachwalk is that each house is limited to one golf cart, so if you have a larger party you’ll be making lots of trips back and forth. We enjoyed the resort but will likely not be returning to this house.

She took notes.The main issues were that almost every closet and some drawers were filled with items - clothing, slippers, broken toys, etc. It seems like the owner and or guest left things they diid not want behind and they were stuffed into closets and drawers.The side walk area of the house was overgrown.The pans were terrible.Missing/dead lightbulbs.The floors made bare feet dirty immediatley.Overall the house diid not seem cared for.

We had some of the same issues as previous guests; the house was not super clean, our feet were so dirty if we walked around barefoot. The porches both need an upgrade. They could be a lot better if they were cleaner and had new furniture. We appreciated that there was kid toys there but most need cleaned. A lot of the house has been upgraded though!!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 14th year staying in Beachwalk where we rent a different house each year. Captiva is not a house I’d rent again and not one I’d recommend to a friend. It is a beautiful, updated house with nice furnishings, Is in a good location and comes with a wagon (was full of stuff and broken, but we made it work). However, the toys, junk, and overall clutter from the home owners is out of control. While the bedding looked and smelled clean, I cannot say the same for the floors as there was food and crumbs on them when we arrived. There is also a broken bed and some structural damage or serious settling to the house which makes it feel as though you are going to fall through the floor while in the master shower. We did let Beachwalk know of all of our concerns so they can be addressed. If the home owner fixes these things then this would be a great house. Overall, we had a wonderful week and didn’t let these things effect our vacation. We will be back to Beachwalk again next year!

We LOVED this home. It really had everything (except beach towels so bring your own). We loved the resort, and all of the employees were helpful and respectful. The only thing negative I would say is that Michigan City does not have a lot to do and the city is a little rough. It could use more tourist activities like mini golf or other family activities. We enjoyed the Shoreline Brewery and the winery was amazing! A shuttle from the resort to the winery might have been nice. Also, if the resort had a tiki bar and a restaurant on the premises, that would be a great addition. Overall though, we had a great time. We would go again.
