5 acre Paradise-Shawnee Wine Trail, Pool, Pond, Firepit, Pet Friendly

How the bright the stars and moon look at night how comfortable was the cabin made us feel like home and how wonderful the animals look everything was perfect !

The pool looked great but was closed up for the winter since we were there in October.

This was a perfect spot for the two of us for our silver anniversary getaway, close to the Shawnee Wine Trail, Fern Clyffe State Park, Rendleman Orchards, and much more.House is clean, up-to-date and well furnished. Kitchen is well equipped for cooking. Bathroom was well supplied with towels and toiletries. Coffee nook was well stocked with caff and decaf k cups, and nice mugs. Considering this is a pet-friendly home, we are happy to report that we didn't find any pet hair on the furniture, or landmines outside.Neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. No traffic.The grill is wonderful for back porch cooking, a perfect scenario to accommodate both charcoal and gas grillers (take your own charcoal and lighter fluid).We enjoyed sitting around an evening fire at the backyard fire pit (there was wood in the fire pit, but I don't know if host always intends to supply firewood?). We spent relaxing time on the back porch swing and patio furniture next to the pool. Pool was clean but we didn't use it as we aren't avid swimmers and the water was cool with fall temps.Everything was so well supplied and clear information provided that we never had a need to reach out to our host for anything!5/5 pleased to recommend this pleasant spot in God's country!

It was a great location for our staff retreat. A very relaxing time away from the busyness of life so we could focus on planning.

Beautiful, clean, comfortable, pool was relaxing, fishing fun-caught 2 catfish, fires in the evening so mesmerizing. Would love to stay here again!

I booked this property for my friend’s bachelorette trip and it was so great! The location is right in the middle of a lot of fun activities!! The staff was very helpful when we needed a few extra supplies for the trip.

Nicely remodeled and clean. Everything was ready and convenient. Coffee bar was a nice touch. Nice amenities. Pool was clean and properly maintained. Very nice place and we would come back. Owner responded quickly when extra service was needed due to bad weather getting debris in the pool.

Very nice house, we loved the access to the pond- my husband and son spent so many hours catching and releasing. It was a rainy weekend for us but that's okay, the kids were still able to enjoy the pool! The house was perfect for all of us. Definitely recommend!

Our stay at this peaceful property was exactly what we needed. Though we were in town for a wedding, we found ourselves wanting to stay at the house and enjoy — it was just that relaxing. Nestled in a quiet, serene spot, the atmosphere was calm and soothing, with only the distant croaking of toads from the nearby pond breaking the silence. It felt like the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of living near Chicago.The house itself was warm and inviting, with plenty of cozy spaces to unwind. We spent mornings sipping coffee on the porch, watching the wildlife around the pond, and evenings enjoying the quiet, starry nights. Afterward, we roasted marshmallows by the fire pit, the perfect way to end a peaceful day.The dogs were so relaxed by the tranquil environment that they never moved when we came back to the house — a true sign of just how peaceful it was. It felt like we were in our own little world, with no rush to go anywhere or do anything.The interior of the house was beautifully designed, with soft, calming colors and comfortable furnishings. My family and I loved staying here. The property and house are beautiful, and there were so many small things they provided that were extremely thoughtful and convenient. The property manager got back to us quickly about issues and information. My husband and I are talking about renting again in July. Great stay!

House sits in nice scenic area close to most Shawnee hiking trails and it's quite area which my husband and I enjoy.

We love coming to southern Illinois, especially in the fall. This house did not disappoint. House accomodated our family of 5 perfectly. Everything our kids love was right here on this property. Next time we plan to come during summer time so we can utilthe pool.

This is a beautiful cottage that had everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing weekend. From chairs at the fire pit to more than enough towels for showering and swimming, we couldnt ask for more. Drinking coffee on the deck or by the pond was so relaxing. Close to the Shawnee wine trail and other attractions.

We enjoyed every moment. Centrally located to Garden of the Gods and Little Grand Canyon in Shawnee National Forest. Minutes from Crab Orchard Wildlife Refuge. Hiking every other day balanced perfectly with a day at home relaxing by the pool.
