The location and the view was amazing. The place was neat and clean but the kettle and the dishwasher were not clean at all. The sink had some smell when turned on the water in the bedroom on the first floor.

Rodent in the Rental and Zero AccountabilityOur experience with Hill Country Premier Lodging was appalling. There was no warning in the listing that the driveway was unpaved and extremely rocky. One of our cars was damaged attempting to drive up, and we were forced to park at the bottom and hike a third of a mile uphill each time we left or returned—dangerous enough that one of our elderly guests fell and was injured.Inside the house, the plumbing was a disaster: one shower leaked into the bedroom below, and another barely had water pressure, making it unusable. What makes this worse is that other reviews noted similar water issues, and the company claimed they’d take the feedback seriously. Clearly, they did not.But the most repulsive issue of all was that we saw a rodent inside the home with our own eyes and found droppings throughout the property. A rodent infestation in a rental is not just disgusting—it’s a health risk. When we reported everything, Hill Country Premier Lodging was curt, unapologetic, and shockingly dismissive. They offered no refund, no compensation, not even a shred of accountability. I was even told by Laura (the only person we could speak with) I was being “insulting” for saying it was crazy to think a rodent didn’t warrant compensation. This company is unprofessional, careless, and dishonest. They ignore guest safety, fail to fix recurring problems, and refuse to take responsibility. Save yourself the headache and book elsewhere.

We enjoyed our stay at Southwind. Everything was clean and as pictured. My only recommendation is to update the signage to reflect Southwind and delete the lock box info since it's not applicable.

The air conditioner in the downstairs bedroom wasn't working and they wouldn't send someone out until after we were checking out. We were expected to stay without air in Texas. The floor hadn't been cleaned. There was trash on the rugs. A towel appeared to have not been washed. The bathtub had soap residue. There were stains on the ceiling from a leak.

The property itself is very beautiful and we had an amazing time together in a quiet and tranquil area. Communication with the owners was simple and efficient. We would absolutely stay again!

House is super cute and beautiful property. Kitchen is very limited on supplies to use so if you plan on cooking a lot bring your own supplies. Overall, very pleased with our stay.

House was clean and great location. The road to get to the house is a gravel road and quite steep. The minivan we drove it was sliding around trying to get up and bottomed out a couple of times. Also the kitchen is nice but short on cooking/baking items. Should purchase a knife set and a decent set of pots and pans and baking trays for guests to use. There was no firewood provided for the fire pit.

We had the best stay at Southwind! The hidden bedroom was perfect for 4 of our 5 kids with plenty of space for each of them to sleep and play. The master bedroom fit me, my husband and our almost 2 year old with lots of room to spare! The two remaining bedrooms were perfect for my sister and father with their own private bathrooms. Our kids loved exploring the property and just being kids unplugged! We loved this spacious, clean, modern home for our stay in Wimberly. Everything was as pictured and as described. Super easy check -in/out process. We can’t wait to visit again!

Overall good stay. A few things to mention. The road to the house is gravel and a bit steep. We were spinning tires a few times. The home wireless worked about 5% of the time. We relied on our cell data.I do recommend this property.

The property is lovely. However, the main A/C went out the first day we were there. We were told they were having problems with the a/c unit but the owner felt the minisplits in two of the bedrooms was sufficient to cool the entire house, he was wrong. In addition, if you were taking a shower, and someone else used the sink, the water to the upstairs shower stopped completely. The water pressure was nonexistent to start. The internet went out constantly which wasn't a huge issue, but meant you couldn't watch the one TV when we were hanging out in the house. Finally, we found 2 scorpions and a centipede in the house. Probably wouldn't stay there again.

We had a wonderful time and all pictures were very accurate of the space. Beautiful decor inside and a fun time to get out in the country and away from the city for our 4 kids age 6-15.
