Welcome to the private guest house at Reedy Mill Pond, a peaceful oasis that offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our charming guest house is situated on the banks of a stunning 45-acre lake, established in 1812 and is exclusively used for electric motor catch and release fishing.
Reedy Mill Pond offers complimentary paddle boat, paddle boards, kayaks, private dock, indoor and outdoor pickle ball court, and water access. A small bass boat can be rented for an additional $200/day to include the cost of gas.
Fish from our large dock & boardwalk, where you might catch a variety of sport fish such as northern pike, crappie, & sunfish. Recently, a record setting 11.4-pound largemouth bass was caught!
Our plan was to visit kings dominion but tropical storm Ophelia had other plans. We spent the entire weekend in a home that showed us love surrounded by an outdoor environment that was spectacular and breathtaking. We had everything we needed for a weekend in with the family with games, movies, popcorn and a wonderful environment where we could relax and comfortably enjoy each other’s company. It was superb and I look forward to enjoying the outdoor amenities in the future. Pro tip: if you plan to prepare meals on site stop at the grocery store before you arrive as most stores / restaurants are about 20min (+) drive from the property.
ONLY STAYED 5 HOURS HAD A FAMILY EMERC HAD TO LEAVE BUT WAS A GREAT PLACE
This is a special property! Pet friendly too! We had a great long weekend with family. We hung out - talked and played games. When we wanted to be active we played tennis and took out the paddle boards. The house has all that is needed -- just like staying at home. And has a fun historical vibe to it. Lots to do -- right there on the property. A great family memory!
What a truly remarkable place to stay. Everything was spectacular! The house is very nice with everything you need. We took a few swims in the lake and enjoyed cooling off in it. The location is a perfect for anyone who loves peace and quiet. We grilled on the grill every night. You have to see it to really appreciate the specialness of this rental. We will be back again just not soon enough!
House was nicely furnished and clean. Beds were comfortable, A/C worked very well, and location to lake was very convenient. Listing wasn't clear how close the owners lived in relation to the guest house....its pretty close!! However, the owners were VERY respectful of our privacy and were extremely accomodating. Lake was great for fishing and paddleboat/kayaking--caught fish everyday (bass, crappie, a few bream/sunfish)!! Even played in the creek some. Our collies enjoyed their time too--lots of hikes on the mowed trails to explore. Overall a good vacation!! We enjoy hiking, family time, fishing, playing in the outdoors--this location is remote. if you are looking for busy time, shopping, eating out, etc.....this may not be ideal. It is still a beautiful location and home. Enjoy!
What a beautiful home with all the amenities you could possible need. The open space of the home is perfect. The purpose of the trip was to spend 3 days at the park but come back to a space that was not confine, and this home did not disappoint. We stayed Friday till Sunday. Friday visit to the park rained and close early. It was great to come back to the home and the children played board games that was provide, the adults created meals and gather along the spacious Island in the kitchen. The location and space is the perfect getaway weather your visiting local attractions or enjoying the beautiful well keep scenery. Our next visit we will take advantage of the outdoor space. Don’t think twice, book it. You will not be disappointed. Thank you for having us and responding to our needs so effortlessly. ?
Well laid out. First class. Complete. Idyllic. Quiet.
We had planned a quick trip to Kings Dominion but had trouble finding hotel rooms for our group on a holiday weekend, so decided to check out vacation rentals. I’m so glad we did because this property made a quick trip into a special getaway. It was only about 20 minutes away from Kings Dominion and the photos were so beautiful we even decided to stay an extra night to enjoy the property. I was a bit nervous since it was newly listed and didn’t have any reviews but I had nothing to worry about. The photos don’t do it justice - the living areas are large and comfortable. The bedrooms are cozy and comfortable. Everything is well supplied. But the real bonus was the surrounding area with plenty of areas to explore or just sit on the back porch listening to the running water. Our teenagers even willingly left screens behind to go explore the nearby creek. I wish we’d had more time. I’m afraid it will be out of our budget once it gets a few more good reviews but I hope we will be able to visit again in the future! Things to note - the house is in a rural area and there isn’t much nearby or delivery services available, but roads are good and the house is easy to find via gps. House might require some adjustment/special care if you were traveling with toddlers (rearrangement of items on low shelves, easy to climb furniture). Older children should be quite happy here. I highly recommend this property and hope to stay here again in the future!
