This is the second time we rented this property and we were as pleased this time as we were the first time. This is a great venue for a large family and the area is great for doing things with being centrally located between Bryson City, Cherokee, Waynesville and the greater Asheville/Hendersonville area.
Beautiful home.. Got everything you need to feel like home.
This house is perfect for a large group. There are two large living areas - one on each floor. The two first floor bedrooms are suites - perfect for two couples. The lower level worked great for our two adult sons. We didn't use the lower level much except to do our workouts and play foosball, but spent most of the time in the beautiful great room on the main floor. No complaints...the owner provided a Christmas tree and decorations, the house was clean and comfortable and the views were great. I personally don't like switchback roads up mountains, so that was a challenge and stretch for me. Also, we have hard core cooks in our family and the kitchen was small for more than one person at a time. If you are sight-seeing or eating out a lot, it would be just right. For fixing a big Christmas dinner - a little bit of a challenge. If you are going to need the internet, you will need patience. Streaming video did not work. It is a great place to relax and take advantage of the peaceful views. Make sure to get out and walk the neighborhood - great workout with all the hills.
I've used VRBO a couple of times. This was by far the most efficient and smooth transaction. The process was easy and transparent. The house is perfect. The views are priceless. I highly recommend this house
Beautiful, large, comfortable rooms, plenty of space for seven adults and a child, very well equipped, large luxurious bathrooms and spacious bedrooms, wrap-around porch with grand views, an open loft above the large living area where we did jigsaw puzzles as other family members watched TV or read. Went snow tubing, drove into the park one evening for the elk crossing, walked around Waynesville and had lunch -- We had a wonderful time!
To quote lines from an old song I'm setting onto of the world looking down at creation. That is what we did for 4 weeks in this lovely home with SOOOOO many amenities. We had breakfast lunch and dinner on the deck to see the view and be entertained by the humming birds that were plentiful. SO SAD all the many years we have been to maggie, we did not know about this beautiful home!
We very much enjoyed our week at this gorgeous house. The drive is quite impressive - 3 big switchbacks up a mountain. But, we drove up & down several times a day for a conference without any difficulty. The house was beautiful and well equipped. Would definitely stay there again. My friend left her bathing suit in the closet and the owner graciously mailed it back to her too!
This house was exactly what we needed for a Spring Break get away! It felt like a real vacation. Listing was very accurate and owner was very easy to work with. Winding mountain road to the top and a beautiful view into the valley and lake below. Very clean and well cared for. Lots of room for everyone. Kids had their own den downstairs. We were close enough to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway and do some hiking, drove into Asheville to zipline park (great for all skill levels), and a close drive to Waynesville to shop the wonderful downtown area. Several good restaurants close-by or kitchen good enough to eat in with a gas grill outside. Nice and clean grocery store only a few miles away in Waynesville, but a gas station at the bottom of the hill for a few staple items. Our kids also loved walking along the creek near the barn and playground area. Highly recommended!
I thought the pictures looked so good that they were doctored in some way but upon arrival were thrilled to see that they didn't capture the complete experience of actually being there. Awesome in every way.
I must say I was a little nervous at first because there was no reviews when I booked it. The home is absolutely beautiful and has eveything you need!!! The views from the home are breath taking!!!! At sunrise, during day, sunset, and even at night !!!!! The road ways to the home has two lane, paved and easy to travel. We did receive snow and they came and plowed the roads daily. Even the driveway was shoveled before we got there. The property manager was so nice and helped us with directions one day. The kids absolutely loved the playground and went sleding on the little hills in the development. A small group of us go to the cabin every year for the last four years, this one is by far our favorite!!!! Almost didn't want to share. Also just to add, the owner Cathy was pleasant and helpful everytime I called inquiring about different things. I could go on and on about how wonderful everything was! I almost would like it to be a secret. Thank you Cathy for allowing me and my family the opportunity for such a wonderful experience and memories! These times are so important to us!!
