4 Blocks to Ocean: Water-View Surfside Beach Home!

The photos show a bunk bed and there was not one which was fine because there was a trundle bed but then we noticed cameras placed INSIDE the house facing the outside but you do not see that in the photos and two of the cameras are in the bedrooms, again facing outside but would allow host to hear everything inside. We noticed a few times that the light on cameras were red indicating that someone was watching as we sat outside. Sometimes it was blue but mostly red. She messaged me asking to move trashcan to curb and i said we would. A while later we noticed the camera was red and then two mins later she asked me to move the trash again so I’m assuming she got on the cameras again. There is also a bright light on them in the evenings so my child covered it because she couldn’t sleep and the camera in kitchen had blinds in the way of it on our last night. The host messaged me first thing in the morning to fix the cameras, again indicating she was on them. Now i can understand having cameras but having them placed outside! Not inside the home and not watching them constantly. It made us extremely uncomfortable!! The kitchen is also missing items like baking sheets, measuring cups, scissors and the pans that are there are not great at all, kind of warped. Other than all that, the house good. We had no issues with the home itself just the feeling of my family being uncomfortable with the cameras and it not being disclosed in the listing we would not stay here again!

Property was clean and convenient. The owner let us have an early check-in and she was very responsive with answers to all my questions.

My family and I loved every minute here. It was one of the best mini getaways we've had. It had everything we were hoping for with the convenience of having the beach and shops nearby. The owner was extremely helpful and informative with providing spots to visit, etc. We will be back the next time we need a little getaway.

The accommodations were perfect for the occasion however the mosquitoes we’re so disrespectful and every time you open the door they swarm into the house.

We just needed a place to sleep, as we were visiting with a large group and doing most meals/hanging out at their house. This was a cute and comfortable place to rest at a great price. We were skeptical of the window air conditioning units, but within a couple hours of being cranked up, they had the house nice and cool (and kept up even in very hot weather). I will say the house is very minimally furnished; rooms could be a little more functional with a few more basic touches (e.g. towel rods/hooks, a few extra towels, nightstands/ shelving -- especially in the room with no closet, as there was literally nowhere to put our stuff but the bed or the floor). Unfortunately, due to the marshlike surroundings and some recent rains, the mosquitos were a nightmare, so we weren't able to enjoy the outdoor space. But the swings below the deck are really nice and would be fun under better conditions.

We stayed in the Mermaid Cove for 2 nights. It was perfect for our family! The house was spacious with a beautiful kitchen. Three separate bedrooms with their own A/C units made everyone happy with their own comfort level. The 2 bathrooms were a plus! The house has 4 swings that can accommodate adults too and we spent a lot of time on them. It has the most perfect view of the the sunset. It was 4 of us but you could easily sleep 8 maybe 9 with the air mattress they had. They had almost everything you could possibly need or forgot at home. Highly recommend and so close to the beach.

House was perfectly away from the busy 4 th of July crowd and a short straight shot walk to the beach. stocked with beach accessories. Woke up and went for early morning beach walks, all the Surfside locals super friendly. My 17 and 21 yr old also enjoyed the wifi , they hanged out at beach during day, went to 3 local restaurants, then movies nights with popcorn. My 70 parents spent one night over and loved it, made burgers on the grill and had sat on the beach at night to see the fireworks with a bomb-fire and marshmallows!!

We had a bad experience, the description of the house was misleading. There are only two bathrooms not three. One of the bedrooms did not have an AC, my sister had to leave and get a hotel because she couldn’t stay in a hot room. The floor was really dirty as well as the whole house with hair in both showers. AC is not central and made a lot of noise. There’s a swamp around the house so every time we got out of the car it was slippery and our shoes were covered in dirt. The house is not on the beach and definitely not steps from the beach. This house is overpriced and not worth the money. It looks big on the pictures but I’m reality it is small.

My husband and I just fell in love with this beautiful oasis nestled in just walking distance from Surfside Beach. Everything was perfectly set for a relaxing escape from the busy city life. It was such a peaceful getaway. Evenings were perfect as we grilled on the upper patio deck overlooking the bay. The beach was in perfect walking distance and there’s even a quiet little spot where you can sit on the rocks of the ocean side. I have to say, this beautiful beach house has become our getaway spot and we can’t wait to visit again.
