So dirty, lack of attention to detail, hardly any furniture and brown water! Things were broken, it was horrible.
I was skeptical after reading the reviews on this property, but it turned out to be a suitable place for our family to celebrate a Stanford graduation. Upon arrival, the yard was overgrown with weeds and looked nothing like the VRBO pictures. I contacted the property manager, and she had the front yard mowed the next morning. The back yard, according to the lawn person, was going to be expensive to clean up (and it was largely unusable). The carpets were supposed to have been cleaned prior to our arrival, but they were still pretty stained and need to be replaced or cleaned again. Also, the living room furniture needed to be vacuumed and as we lifted cushions there was a whole mess waiting for us (food, loose change, dirty tissues). In the bathrooms, the cleaners did not remove any of the bath products left by the former renters. The outside of the fridge and dishwasher were dirty as well. The a/c unit at the back of the house worked, but the front one was not working. The water problem mentioned in a previous review has been rectified. The space for our family was adequate, but the home is sparsely furnished. Much of the outdoor furniture is largely unusable and/or broken (needs replacing). It was comfortable but a bit run down and in need of some TLC. I think it’s a bit overpriced for the amenities it provides.
Our party of 4 adult family members and 4 young children stayed for long weekend. I have to repeat the review from 4 years ago about the lack of amenities and poor upkeep, if anything the property shows even more wear and lack of attention. The drain problems noted 4 years ago have not been fixed and the hot water delivered so much rusty red water and metal crumbs that we were reluctant to even shower. The overgrown garden is an embarrassment to the multi-million dollar neighborhood. Positives - Owner responsive to check-in questions. Great location, lots of room, supplied with baby care items (crib, high chair, baby bath), new 65 TV (seems like that's mandatory for VRBO these days), sufficient linens. Negatives - as reviewed by others, needs a deep clean, bad plumbing, yard is a total mess. Definitely overpriced.
It needs a deep clean. Shampoo of carpets, new mattresses, pressure wash, inner atrium. Kitchen to be stocked with bare necessities. Knives, pots and things to cook with were not available. For the nightly price - it should be in PREMIUM condition. No added benefits of a warm welcome which is needed at this price. Fold down on beds with chocolates at this price! Nothing. Just a scuzzy, dirty, unkept, not maintained house.
We enjoyed our stay, although some things in the house need attention. The outside spaces were nice and we wanted to be out there, but there was no outdoor chairs or furniture of any kind. The main floor bathroom shower drain was not working properly. The kitchen had the very bare minimum of anything. We had to constantly wash glasses to have enough. The pans need replacing as they are very scratched up. No kitchen towels. The beds were comfortable and communication with the owner was good.
This property had lots of space for our group and was very clean.
