Stayed Aug 23, 2025We had a wonderful stay here in Terlingua. We came for the stargazing and were not disappointed! The skies are very dark, Bortle-1. The nighttime pic on our review is of the Summer Milky Way, taken on only a phone looking south from the tall side of the house. The house is surrounded by a flat gravel yard so we had a safe place to set up our telescope. Even though we brought a telescope we had the most enjoyment from sitting in lounge chairs using regular binoculars to gaze at Sagittarius, Scorpius, sparkly star clusters and the Milky Way. The house is beautiful, sleek and modern with fantastic views, and the area is very quiet with perfect privacy. There are small bushy flowering plants around the patio that brought in many tiny butterflies, and the house is surrounded by an Ocotillo forest that must look stunning when in bloom. We’ll definitely be back!

Stayed Aug 29, 2025I’d like to start with how breathtaking this property is and it was perfect for my bachelorette trip labor-day weekend. My reason for 3-stars is that a very important piece of information is left out of the listing; running water relies on an electric pump with no backup generator. Well the power goes out pretty easily, I’d say, when it storms in this area (which is mentioned on sign in the house when you arrive but not on the listing when booking). We had a storm roll through around 9pm Saturday night knocking the power out for several hours, about 12 hrs give or take. We had hiked big bend all day in the heat and some of us weren’t able to shower afterwards. Going to bed dirty with no AC all night was quite uncomfortable in late August. Additionally, we had to go into town to grab coffee and use the restroom in the morning. Luckily our group made the best of it. I’m mentioning this as a heads up for those who may have kids or other people who require running water. Make sure you’re prepared!! Other than that, we had an absolute blast and I will be recommending this property in the future and just adding that necessary tidbit of info.

Stayed Dec 27, 2024We have stayed here twice and always have a wonderful time. House is beautiful, has everything you need, and super clean. I wish there were window coverings in the bedrooms so that you could sleep past sunrise but sunrise is beautiful!

Stayed Oct 25, 2024This property is amazing with amazing views!!!! First time to Terlingua. From my wife’s review Our stay at the VRBO was delightful. I had my reservations about being out a little ways not close to any other homes or people. But let me just say It worked out. The host was most helpful and very responsive. Follow what the host said about screenshoting the directions, before you loose cell service. At the location though we had service and wifi! Our navigation alone didn’t get us there so that was great advice. We were staying for my husbands fathers birthday, he wanted to see Big Bend. So we hosted the family for meals, campfire stories, smores and stargazing. Which is the most beautiful I’ve experienced. You can truly see every star in the sky. The house was very clean and tidy as well as comfortable. I also like if you leave anything in the fridge they put It to good use and don’t just throw It away. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

Stayed Oct 8, 2024My husband, two elementary aged kids and my retired parents stayed in this house for our big bend trip. It was a wonderful pick! The surrounding area around the house is beautiful, the house is very nice, comfy and has everything you’d need. Terilingua is a great place to stay if visiting the park, lots of places to eat and a grocery store super close. I would definitely recommend anyone visiting Big Bend to stay here!

Stayed Aug 2, 2024We have visited the area many times but chose this house due to the location. We wanted complete darkness for our very large telescope. It was perfect! Quiet, dark at night, clean, comfy beds, and everything you could need. We cooked several meals and used the firepit. We are already planning to come back in the winter!

Stayed Jun 6, 2024Our stay at Panorama Lodge was above and beyond what we could have ever hoped for. We stayed for three nights and for a family with kids ranging from 5-13, I feel that the length of stay was perfect. We loved everything about the property, the cleanliness, the attention to details, the views, the location, being able to unplug from the world but still having WiFi if needed, the communication with the owner, and my list can go on and on. I do recommend you stop at a grocery store or Walmart on the way in for any food items, there is a small general store which is nice for last minute things, but the prices are a bit high and the variety is scarce. We stopped at the Walmart in Fort Stockton on the way in and got everything we needed. We visited the Terlingua Ghost Town and ate at Taqueria El Milagro and Espresso y Poco Más and highly recommend both locations. We also visited the Terlingua Trading Company for souvenirs and had fun exploring all the trinkets and learning about the history of the building. We went to Big Bend National Park and hiked two easy trail since we had kids. We explored Tuff Canyon and Lower Burro Mesa trails. Overall I give Panorama Lodge 5 stars, and ever since we left my husband and I have been talking about our stay there and trying to figure out when we will be back.
