Stayed Dec 28, 2025Pros: The house was great and had everything we needed. It had plenty of space and the basement area was a big bonus having 4 teens with us. The owners are extremely responsive and answered all questions and texts immediately. Cons: distance to activities - just be prepared to drive a lot. If remote is what you want this house is perfection.

Stayed Oct 15, 2025We were in the area for a family wedding and our stay at the Hill Top Hide Away was amazing! The property is beautiful and very comfortable and the views are just breathtaking! The hosts are great and very easy to communicate with and added to the wonderful experience. 5 stars all the way and we would definitely stay there again!

Stayed Jul 30, 2025The location of this property is amazing! It's deep into a cove which gives it a more seclusion feel. This house is very clean and everything is up to date. I recommend this location if wanting to stay on watauga lake.

Stayed Apr 13, 2025The wrap-around porch offers the most beautiful and relaxing view imaginable. All we could hear were birds and a few fish jumping in the water. Carol is a great communicator and truly cares that her guests have everything they need. The master bed is super comfy and the kitchen is well equipped. Be ready for a steep curvy driveway. Very doable, but just a heads up for those who fear heights like me! Great stay with easy check in and out. Be sure to keep an eye out the kitchen window for deer in the upper pasture. Beautiful!

Stayed Sep 20, 2024We stayed at this property to celebrate my Dad’s 80th and it was wonderful. Plenty of space, comfy beds, gorgeous views allowed everything to be perfect.

Stayed Jun 29, 2024The location of the house was perfect. We enjoyed using the kayaks, canoe and paddle board provided. We also rented a boat for one day to explore the lake and were able to easily dock it. Having a small refrigerator down by the dock was very convenient. We also enjoyed making snores at the fire pit. There was plenty of firewood available. The house was very clean and spacious and the kitchen was fully stocked. The front porch was the perfect spot for reading and enjoying our morning coffee while looking out at the lake. Carol is an excellent host who made sure our stay was perfect from start to finish. We highly recommend this property!
