Loved the place very cozy

The kitchen entry door should have a light, it was very dark, even in the daytime, maybe a motion light should be installed?? There were tons of flies and mosquitoes at the kitchen entry door. We also killed tons of flies in the house for 2 days and we didn't hardly use the kitchen entry door, where they were when we arrived.There was a trash can there on the day we arrived, but it disappeared the next day and we never saw it again, we had to take our trash to a large trash can, that was a distance past 3 lots and across the street.Both sliding glass doors need to be greased/oiled up, for easier opening.The oven didn't look like it had been cleaned, when we turned the oven on, there was food at the bottom of it that started burning and smoked up the oven.There was a nasty/dirty pair of men' underwear under the bed in the guest room, I guess the cleaning people didn't see them?? Don't know how they could have missed them, they were in plain sight.I also got ate up by fleas or some sort of insect on my ankles, calves and knees-had to go purchase spray for the itching.

This house was perfect, it had a laid back feel, came with one of my friends from college and we both agreed it was perfect, clean and very close to everything

Overall, everything was great, the house just needs some love (but we've lived at the beach before and know how hard it can be).

This place was in great proximity to the beach, shops and lots of restaurants. The cottage was really big with lots of seating and space for bigger family’s with tons of games. We had several issues with the cleanliness of this place. Yes it is outdated, but that doesn’t excuse it being dirty and not regulated cleaning that should come with owning a place that people rent. Upon check in, the cleaning company didn’t clearly do what they were supposed to do. There was popcorn, crumbs and dead bugs all over this place. I took it upon myself to vacuum and got half a canister of dirt. The bathroom towels and shower curtain wreaked of mildew and it was unbearable to use. I even washed them myself, and notice the washer rubber seal is covered in mold. The kitchen counters and appliances were very clean but the cabinets were nasty. There was hair, dead bugs and filth all inside and on the outside of the cabinets. Along with the cleaning issues we had the sliding door on the middle level would not lock. I noticed all 3 sliding doors were in need of repair of some sort. Again, this place has its perks and being outdated is fine, but being dirty and lacking repair and general investment with owning a rental is an issue especially when there is a “cleaning fee” being charged.

The living space was super big! Had a great time, super close to the beach.

Perfect house for our visit. Love the breezes in many rooms thanks to sliding doors and windows. Loved the open spaciousness of the living room and how it was perfectly connected to kitchen. Beds comfy and kitchen had all we needed for cooking. Furniture great and comfortable too. Location was nice, especially being at end of street. Peaceful, quiet, private.

We stayed 4 nights with my family, and the house is very comfortable and equipped with almost everything you need. You only need to bring toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags, since those are not provided.The location is excellent—less than a 5-minute walk to the beach, just steps away from Jeannette’s Pier.The air conditioning is controlled and adjusted by the hosts. We requested to lower the temperature, and they responded very quickly. There are also plenty of fans available in the house in case it gets warm.The house does need some repairs, but if you don’t mind it being a bit dated, it is very cozy and comfortable. It was clean, and the bathrooms were also clean.The master bedroom has a king-size bed with a memory foam mattress that is absolutely amazing—extremely comfortable. The mattress in the second-floor room is firmer but still comfortable. The rooms have plenty of pillows and blankets.They also have a Keurig coffee maker, which was a nice surprise—it’s actually the first time I’ve found a Keurig in a rental, which made the stay even more convenient.One thing I didn’t like was that the outdoor trash can was overflowing, and there was garbage scattered around it, with waste inside the bin without a bag.Overall, the price was excellent for the season. I would definitely stay there again.

My sons and I really enjoyed staying at this house. It was very comfortable and gave a home kind of feeling. The location is very convenient. We had no issues communicating with the owners and did so many times throughout our stay. The house is stocked with all the basics and more.

House is older, has a lot of potential. Furniture needs to be moved when staff comes in to clean, I had to move the recliner to get something I dropped and under it to as obvious it had not been vacuumed in some time. Washing machine tray was hideous and would not work, I had to clean it just so I could clean my clothing, Temperature was difficult to navigate as the owners were out of area and had control over it so it was too hot or too cold, This time of year is hard since we go through all seasons in one day. While I was there a pear company came and entered the home without my knowledge, only reason I knew is because he was there ready to leave when I pulled in and I asked who it was and he told us and said he was inside to just be careful around the perimeter as he just sprayed inside. A heads up on that would have been nice so I could have at least secured my things or even had arranged to stay. Garbage was an issue there were clear directions and it appeared they were not held up to by previous renter, there was a full bin outside. Due to high winds we woke up one day to that bin knocked over an spread all over the place. I had to take the time to pick it up from the grounds, which was gross. I enjoyed the area but maybe this time of year wasn’t the best plan of action.

The rental was clean but it was a bit outdated. Sheets and towels were provided. It was fine for a group of guys duck hunting for the weekend. The layout was a bit strange and would be difficult for a family. It was guy friendly.

Great location. Close to everything. We didn’t cook while there, but it looked like they had every pot and pan you could need. Indoor temp is controlled by owner remotely. He responds very quickly to a text request to change the temp. Simple enough. Great value, too. Can’t find these rates anywhere nearby. Hosts are friendly and respond quickly to any questions.

Despite the November weather, we had a nice visit.

Great location made for close access to Oregon Inlet for fishing. Close to several restaurants for dining. Spent both evenings on the back deck. Kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Cottage is located just off the beach Road for easy access to everything it allows for privacy.

Would highly recommend!!!

Not much of a talker I thought it was very nice could use a lil wall remodeling and backsplash resealing but over all was easy to keep clean.

We had a great week. The house is older could use some updates other than that no complaints. Great location to shops and restaurants.

Communication with owner was great, however house could use some serious repair. Looks like there is water damage on the walls, wall panels are bowing. Bed was too soft for our comfort. Did not feel comfortable using grill because it is bolted to the deck and was not cleaned. Was worried about grill being so close to the house due to fire hazard.

Feels like a home. It is outdated as others have said but i actually love that. We had 5 adults and 3 children. Everyone had plenty of space. Short walk to beach. Back porch is pretty secluded. The wildlife reserve behind the home keeps it private.this was our second stay. Would stay again

Great location, fully stocked kitchen and affordable rates. Would stay again.

This is the third year in a row that we have stayed here. Lots of space for everyone to spread out and three showers to choose from when you come in from the beach. The house is at the end of the road so it is very private. It’s a quick walk to the beach and it was never too crowded at our access point. There are piers 1 mile to the north and south. The location is close to everything but still manages to feel remote.

Cottage A&E is as good as it gets! Perfectly priced, fully stocked kitchen and less than a football fields walk from the beach. 10/10, would book again!

Absolutely wonderful house and location. The price was perfect. Great location to the beach.

Very comfortable home. Didn’t appear that the home was cleaned well when we checked in. One of the shower head and handles were broken. Had to tighten the other one to keep water from spraying all over the walls.

Finding a quiet rental on Bodie Island that's still close to the restaurants and activities in Nags Head and KDH can be a real challenge, but this property threads the needle! Space is perfectly suited for a family of 3-5, and the well stocked kitchen was particularly appreciated. Back deck is nice and private feeling which is tough to manage in this area. Hope to stay here again on a future trip!

Inexpensive central location to tour Corolla to Ocracoke

We like it due to layout, location, and access to Manteo.

The house shows many signs of wear and tear and needs a deep cleaning. Holes in vinyl floors, many carpet stains, throw pillow and blanket stains, hole in wall, dirty kitchen windows, torn screens, bathroom mold on shower curtains and toilet cleaning utensils, dog poo in yard, cockroach bug in bathroom, outside furniture and grill too rusty to use. Owner was receptive and thankful to my comments but nothing done during our stay.Gorgeous sunsets, central location, sufficient dinnerware and linens.

Really liked the location and house layout. Well equipped kitchen, except no dishwasher, which was not a problem for us.

We were greatly excited to take a family vacation with our four kids to the OBX; however, we were greatly let down by the condition of the home and the lack of the owner’s willingness to compensate us with a partial refund when the home was not ready to be rented out in the first place. For instance, we noticed a food stain on the kitchen counter, a hair lying on a clean towel, a strong bad odor in the upper room (which had fans running in it as though someone was attempting to air it out), horrible stains and even a piece of trash on the pullout sofa bed mattress, very large spider webs behind the kitchen curtains, smooshed bugs on the walls, a broken and unusable shower handle, a messy silverware drawer, dirty windows, and a broken trash can lid (plus an old cheerio below the lid). After pulling out the sofa bed mattress for a second night and noticing mouse droppings on it, we decided we no longer wanted to remain. We left after two nights (despite booking for seven nights). While the owners offered to send housekeeping, this was not a satisfactory resolution for us, as we traveled a distance to stay in a house we were expecting to be clean, not to spend part of our vacation with a housekeeper or handyman at our location (nor did it make us feel more comfortable about the overall cleanness of the place when it looked like it did in the first place). We did request a partial refund; however, we were disappointed that this was not provided after such a negative experience.

The house was perfect. My daughter and i wanted a quiet week and the house was perfect. We were close to everything we wanted to do. We definitely want to come back.

iAs soon as you walked in the house you smelled a mildew smell, the walls had water damage and by the second day and last day the sewer smell was overwhelming.

Plenty of space for friends and family to unwind. Great location tucked away in the middle of the OBX making it convenient to get everywhere we wanted to see and easily accessible for a break in the day. Would definitely book this cottage again. Absolutely loved it!

Great value for our stay. Split level (3) house with 2 full bedrooms and multiple sofabeds in 2 other open areas. New air conditioning/heater wall units. Good LED TVs and Spectrum internet. Good location within 100 yards of Nags Head beach access. Within walking distance of Jeannette's pier. In addition to our own toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags (as stated in their description), we bought our own dish soap, bath soap, and dobie pads for dishwashing. Liquid soap provided was so-so. Nonetheless, we give our stay 5 stars.

This property was perfect for our girls trip. It was clean and has a homey feel to it. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others. The listing is accurate and we felt very comfortable during our stay. Thank you!
