Our home is located in the beautiful historic town of Sault Ste Marie, the oldest city in Michigan.
Our house comes fully stocked so you don't have to worry about bringing unnecessary things on your travels. We supply linen's, bath towels, kitchen accessories, shower needs, cooking utensils, and much much more. Have special requested items Just ask! Let us take care of you by stocking what you need. Want to surprise a loved one for their birthday, an anniversary or special occasion, we can add items (surprise flowers, cards, gifts) to the space for you!
The home is a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom home built in 1930. One bedroom is on the main floor with 2 Full size beds. One bedroom is on the second floor with 2 Queen size beds. The upstairs bedroom is considered a "loft" which has a slightly steep stairwell to access. There is also another small area on the second floor with a twin size rollaway cot for your use.
Our home is located directly on snowmobile trail UP8 which has access to the entire Eastern Upper Peninsula snowmobile trail system. Our long driveway offers 3 truck and 3 four place trailer parking.
During the summer time relax around the fire pit and roast smores, use our charcoal grill to cook, or simply relax at your home away from home.
We are in close proximity to the Ashmun Bay boat launch where you can launch your boat, Canoe or kayak to fish or explore walking trails on the surrounding islands.
We are pet friendly, and require a $50 pet fee, and require that while you are away, they are kenneled.
The entire house is yours to use during your stay. All we ask is that you respect our neighbors by not riding on their property that is attached to ours. We also ask that you stay in the designated area for trailer, truck, snowmobile, ATV parking.
For stays longer than 5 days, I am available for light cleaning of the home and garbage or trash removal upon request.
The house was clean, comfortable, well stocked, good location.
Very clean property with all the amenities. The house has a great layout and is very comfortable. Definitely would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Stayed here for a snowmobiling weekend. Location was great. The house was very cute and cozy! Has everything you need! Would definitely stay here again.
Will definitely stay here again!
Great place to stay
Love staying here. This was our third time and we'll be back again. Perfect access to snowmobile trails and close to everything I'm the Soo. Best stocked kitchen of any VRBO house I've stayed in.
The house is located right on trail 8…perfect for snowmobiling trips. Big pluses pet friendly, clean, yard and parking. We had 3 trucks and 3 trailers and with a little effort there was plenty of room. We would stay here again. Thanks Julia!
My wife came up with our dogs while I worked in the Soo for two weeks, Julia is a great host and the place definitely does the job.
The house was very clean and a comfortable. The location is great, close to good skiing trails. Julia is very responsive to messages. We enjoyed our stay despite getting snowed in by a blizzard!
Great weekend getaway. The home was clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was provided. Great communication and responsive.
We stayed at the house to watch our son play a couple of games with the Soo Eagles, over the Thanksgiving weekend. Great location, just out of the downtown. The house looks like it was curated out of a Home Goods Catalog. Super Cute. Every thing was spotless. Would definitely stay there again.
We were in between moving and purchasing a new home and needed a place to stay for a couple weeks and found this place. It was a nice equipped home and had what we needed to be comfortable.
Beds could use some updating but very clean and has everything you need.
Our trip was great, loved the close drive to beaches, shopping restaurants, and places to kayak. Rotary Park is a gentle close paddle and the Les cheneaux islands are less than an hour drive south. Wish there were more hooks/towel bars in bathrooms, and drawers or starage space in lower bedroom, screens would be nice in all windows. You cannot walk to the downtown area in less than 40 minutes, we had hoped to have that option vs a DD enjoying the night life. I thought you could access a trail from the property to hike but could not find one. We enjoyed bonfires in the backyard, the super comfy roomy sectional, and the nice deck for morning coffee. My kid has four legs, so being able to have him stay with us was the cherry on top.
Our group of 6 adults stayed here for a long weekend and we did enjoy the huge kitchen and the size of the property. The space was nice with an “interesting” layout but overall clean and cozy. An ac unit or screens upstairs would be the biggest feedback for the owners - it was probably 80 degrees upstairs. Also, there is a rail yard behind the house and they were blasting the train horn full blast between 10:45pm-midnight on Saturday. Overall, the location was doable for a drive to St. Ignace, Tehquanemon Falls, Whitefish Point, and obviously Sault Ste. Marie.
The property was as described and very clean. Plenty of extra pillows and blankets. Nice fast internet and plenty of room for a week stay. So much better than staying in a hotel. Julie was very informative and checked on us to make sure we didn't need anything. Great host and would recommend. Already planning next years stay.
Our daughter paid for this rental in order to attend our granddaughters ball tournament. Unfortunately our daughter came down with covick and was unable to join us along with the rest of her children who were in the home. There was no Grace given to get out of the rental so my husband and I joined our granddaughter and stayed with her. (I've used another vrbo and had to back out but because they were able to re-rent it a full refund was given. Considering there was quite a large ball tournament going on I'm sure your place would have been re-rented.) The house was cute enough and served a purpose but if I were using it for an actual vacation I would have preferred to have more kitchen supplies: Salt and pepper or storage bags of any kind including aluminum foil has been included in other vrbo's. I noticed in your visitor's log quite a few people mentioned the need for screens. You definitely need screens in every window in the U.P., especially if you're only going to mow half your yard and the other half is nothing but tall weeds.
Everything was great! I found this house online and it met all our expectations! Thank you for a wonderful visit to Sault Ste. Marie.
Very clean and well-appointed. We appreciated the coffee/tea/ individual packets of sugar, etc. that were available to use. Very comfortable. Thank you.
Plenty of space for our 3 day visit to the Soo. Very clean and well organized. Nice to have the baby gate for the stairs!
