Stayed Jan 29, 2022This beautiful property is located in the rainforest just far enough away from the busy main road to be perfectly peaceful, you're close enough to give you access to beaches, restaurants etc. We loved our stay!

Stayed Dec 24, 2021Beautiful property and the staff could not be any more accommodating. Their recommendations for activities in the area are on point. Make sure you schedule them into your trip. The pool is a true gem in the middle of the rainforest. We saw macaws form there daily.

Stayed Dec 27, 2019Lovely, spacious home set back from the main path yet close to everything (rainforest hikes, waterfalls, zip lining, beaches and several great restaurants) along the central pacific coast. Daily maid service was a nice bonus and spacious kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cook wear. Kitchen was limited on some basic food essentials (salt only think in pantry) so just be prepared for that and buy what you need at the local market. Pool was very clean and refreshing after hikes and activities. We saw several scarlet macaws, hummingbirds and many types of butterflies and lizards each and every day from the patio. Saw monkeys and toucans a short distance away. Quiet and clean, as pictured.

Stayed Dec 27, 2018We had a wonderful stay and are very grateful for the experience we had at the Sheet's home. We were 5 adults and we had plenty of space, a great kitchen (and grill outback) we cooked in for breakfast and many dinners. We enjoyed coffee on the patio where our bird watcher was able to see many species without leaving the house! The location is great and we were able to get to waterfalls, rain forests, multiple beaches, zip lines, ATV rentals, surfing and more. Buck was a great on-site resource and recommended a zip line experience (and booked it for us!) that was exceptional. He had suggestions for new years and offered to be available should the kids need anything during the night. He also recommended a good local butcher. There are a few groceries near by, a great pharmacy, and we also enjoyed the Marriott marina nearby by for a great bar (were able to get the Clemson game on their big monitor) and dinner locations.

Stayed Feb 21, 2018We loved the freedom of not being stuck on a resort. The housekeeper kept the place spotless and did our laundry! Buck the on site manager stopped in to tell us the best zip line place to go, how to get to grocery store etc. It was perfect!! Secluded enough to be private but close enough to a ton of places to eat.

Stayed Dec 26, 2017We absolutely loved our 8-night stay at Casa Maganda - the property is incredible, but even more importantly, the people who support the property are what really sets this apart. The home itself has a wonderful layout. The master bedroom and bath is what you read about in architectural magazines. The extra large master shower is surrounded by windows - the lower half of which are frosted - that give an amazing view to the surrounding rain forest. It's a surreal experience showering, during a rain shower, or at night when the grounds are nicely lit. My kids loved the inner atrium. Very relaxing to read in the internal garden while the rain comes down above your head. The home has every convenience you could want. The wifi needed to be reset a few times, but in general, speed matched what I get at home. The modern kitchen was a plus, as we cooked about half our meals at home. The outdoor space is even better. Scarlet macaws were a constant presence, their call an easily recognizable signal to get the camera ready. And the pool and grill were used frequently (it was a nice touch that the staff put out pool toys for the kids on the first day). As great as the property is, the people is why you rent this place. Costa Rica is a beautiful country, and the people friendly (pura vida!), but its still a poor country (by American standards) and security may be a concern for some. The home is equipped with a security system, and there is a security guard who monitors the property from dusk until dawn. Even with a 5-hour power outage our last night, we felt safe and secure. Plus, Buck, your point of contact when on site, is very responsive to phone and text. He checked in with us several times the week we were there, and responded promptly to every text (for example, the gas grill did not have a propane tank, and Buck had one delivered within a few hours). He organized our zip lining excursion, and even brought us tangerines from his garden. He's a reassuring presence for anyone who's not rented a home in foreign country before. All in all, we had an incredible stay at Casa Maganda! It's conveniently located, right down the road from Carara and the Tarcoles River, and a short day trip away from popular excursions like Manuel Antonio and Tortuga Island. The owners take care of the property, and between Buck, Nelson, and Noylin (daily cleaning service was a HUGE plus - she even did our laundry without us even asking), you are never without the help you need.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Beautiful!! I stayed here with a group of friends and we had an incredible time. The home itself is one of a kind! The staff on hand were great and very helpful. There are lots of activities located around the home from zip lining, hiking, atv tours, and lots of beaches. We rented a car and the beaches and activities were short drives away. I would recommend this listing to anyone who is looking for a private and relaxing stay in Costa Rica!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969I really wanted to share our deepest thanks to guys for letting us stay in such a beautiful home. Our jaw dropped as we walked through the door. Our week in Costa Rica was absolutely phenomenal and would make a strong recommendation to anyone planning a trip to this beautiful country, treat you and your family to a stay here in the beautiful Casa Maganda. There were so many highlights from bird watching, to river rafting, four wheeling. There is so many to name and all of the tour companies picked us up right from the front door here!!! Such a great experience, thanks again.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Our family loved the serenity and privacy Casa Maganda offered. Early morning was enjoyed with a cup of coffee by the pool, listening to the sounds of birds. On several occasions Scarlet Macaws flew by, once roosting in the tree in the backyard. Each morning a pair of Toucans could be found eating papayas from a neighboring tree. The house is spectacular and very comfortable. We especially loved all the large windows throughout Casa Maganda. They offered beautiful views of the foliage in every direction. Though the house is secluded, there was a lot to do within a short car ride - Restaurants, Carara Park, Gringo Bridge, Grocery Store, Casino, and Tours.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Just returned from 5 days at Casa Maganda and loved every minute. The house is beautiful, very comfortable and centrally located near excellent restaurants. It is perfect for relaxing by the pool or hiking thru the jungle and seeing monkeys and scarlet macaws. We really enjoyed experiencing the local culture and the Ticos (local people) were friendly. Some of the highlights of our trip were Inka Grill, Pura Vida Gardens, Carara and the Crocodile Man Tour. We highly recommend Casa Maganda and can't wait to make a return visit.
