Stayed Jul 14, 2025This was the perfect cabin for our family vacation to Rangeley! We had plenty of room to spread out, and having two full bathrooms was incredibly helpful! I know that can be difficult to find with some cabins, but we needed it and very much appreciated it.Although some may call the interior dated, we appreciated the true cabin feel, and enjoyed reading about all the history attached to the decorations. And you can't beat the beautiful, modern kitchen! We spent the majority of our time down by the dock, though. Every day we were swimming, fishing, and taking the canoes out around the pond for a leisurely paddle or to try to catch a big one. We didn't have any issues with it, but be aware if you're coming with older adults or anyone with mobility issues that the hill down to the firepit and water is decently steep. In terms of activities outside the cabin, it's perfectly placed between Rangeley and Oquossoc. We enjoyed breakfast at the Oquossoc Grocery several mornings, and delicious dinners and ice cream in Rangeley. This is a well-suited cabin for families with so much to do if you can bear to leave the beauty of Dodge Pond.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This home is well loved by the owners. Sweet touches and a note of history of the property and family background. The indoor fireplace is epic!! We felt like we were welcomed guests in a well stocked home with games, books and every appliance you would need in the kitchen to make amazing comfort food. All we needed was to bring some clothes and food, everything else was provided. The deck view of the lake was the perfect way to open and close the day. Secluded, hiking trails nearby, everything I'd hoped for. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was because some touch ups do need to be made which the owners addressed up front but nothing off-putting. It was perfect for what we were looking for.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Had a wonderful week! The home was well outfitted with lots of cookware/kitchen items. Loved the firepit/dock area! Only negative comment was we were in town during a hot spell and could have used a few more fans.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We were seeing great weather shaping up in Rangeley for Labor Day weekend, so we emailed M&F with a week's notice to request a quiet and private waterfront rental for my wife and our pet... and yet again, they did not disappoint. They responded back with a few options and 23 Dolman was the one we selected. We had a fantastic time there! Having only rented on Rangeley Lake and Mooselook in the past, we were very happy with Dodge Pond. It's big enough for boats and personal watercraft but camps are spread out and the water was always calm even when the wind picked up. The property is as-described and photographed. The three levels and multiple bedrooms would make it great for a big family to stay and was more than enough space for us. The wrap-around deck was amazing to grill on, lounge on and enjoy the pond view. The property has a somewhat steep grade to the pond's edge but was only about 50 yards from the house, so it wasn't too difficult, just need to watch your footing on damp grass. The shore has both a sturdy dock and a nice walk out area to swim. If you want privacy, this is the place. The property is very large and we could not see (and could barely hear) activity at the camps on either side of us. The opposite shore has camps but they are far enough away that you felt secluded from them as well. We were perfectly situated halfway between Rangeley and Oquossoc, so you were less than 10 minutes from both. It didn't matter though as we felt no need to leave the property... just hung out on the deck and the dock. It is obvious that the owners of the home take very good care of the place and instructions by them and M&F were very clear on how to operate it. The owners also left a wonderful list of things to do and guided us on what we could invite ourselves to do and use in the home. It was a really nice touch and made us feel welcomed. The renovated kitchen was fantastic and they had everything a cook would need. The oversized fireplace made us kinda wish it was cold enough for a fire! They have a huge woodshed where there was plenty of seasoned logs for a campfire in the outdoor fire pit. If there's any drawbacks to the home, the windows and doors are on the older side, so opening and closing them was sometimes a challenge. Also, you are relatively close to Route 4/16, so while the hum of road noise is audible from the outdoors, we did not hear it inside the house. But the proximity to the towns made it worth it. Bottom line... we had an amazing time at 23 Dolman and while we only had a long weekend to enjoy it, we will definitely consider coming back for our 1 and 2 week summer stays if it's available... we can't wait to come back!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Had a week of great weather and happy days. This was our 2nd time renting 23 Dolman. A comfy lake house with everything one would need. The new kitchen upgrades look and worked nicely. Fully outfitted. Both bathrooms worked better this summer and a nice new shower! Great location so easy to run off for errands and restaurants. Lake is quiet and perfect for kayak and canoeing. Appreciate it is a dog friendly home. Many memorable moments. Thank you! Only critiques/drawbacks: the mattress quality. Very hard mattress and squeaking bedsteads made it difficult to have a solid night sleep. The steep hillside to the water is difficult for some and the elderly Overall we enjoyed our time once again and highly recommend it. Morton & Furbish does a nice job communicating and is very responsive with any requests or questions.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Our family of a Grandma, 2 teens, 2 adults stayed very comfortably for 3 nights. The house was very clean and cozy and quiet. The house has a wonderful fishing theme and is well loved. A big stone fireplace provided much warmth and ambience at night. The small kitchen was fine for a short stay and well equipped with everything we needed. The location is convenient to town and skiing. The assortment of books and games was vast!! Finally, everything worked!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This is 21st year we rented in Rangeley. We expected to enjoy a quiet week canoeing on the warmer waters of Dodge Pond with the loons. The loons were there every day but so was the noisy traffic on Rt4. This cabin is perfect for a family; plush soft new carpet throughout, two separate upstairs bedrooms and bunkbeds with their own bathroom and a long loft space for a play area. We spent every night in the living room in front of the stunning stone fireplace that draws perfectly! There is a little nook area with a wide assortment of video's for movie night too. The basement has lots of board games, it's own couch and seating for the older kids who want their own space. We did appreciate the extensive spices, coffee, rice, etc. in the panty however the kitchen needs serious updating. The layout was for 1 person to cook, the 4 burner was only 3 working burners and when you used the microwave a fuse would pop. Master bedroom has a good Queen mattress but the MB bathroom needs gutting. How easy would it be to punch out the MB closet and make a walk-in tiled shower? A wonderful vacation home that needs a facelift for the price we paid.
