209B Midland The Cottage Less than two blocks to Lewes Beach!

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Location of this rental is great, one of the only small-ish rentals near the bay beach left in Lewes. Dog friendly with a fee, but furniture and rugs were not clean/maintained well. Given the extra fee for a pet, I would expect that would pay for necessary additional cleaning but there was dog hair on all fabric surfaces, and the living room couch felt incredibly unclean; just saturated with pet dander. Not all windows had screens, which was a frustration since the temps were nice enough to have fresh air rather than a/c and we were overwhelmed by flies & fruit flies within a day. Beds were advertised as queen but were actually all full size (I checked b/c the sheets I brought did not fit). Kitchen was well stocked and good for cooking. The sunroom was really nice. Honestly I think this house is good as a home base for trips out to the beach, but not really a place I wanted to spend time relaxing in due to uncomfortable furniture (the dining stools and table were completely unmatched in terms of height, requiring boosters for adults) and cleanliness. The second house on the lot has its own outdoor space immediately adjacent to the dining/outdoor grill area.

Cute cottage. Washer didn’t work was told upon arrival and no one ever called ir came by to repair. Mail ceiling light in kitchen was not functional. When sitting on the couch everyone was getting bite marks — most likely the couch has fleas. Pet friendly home however, the cleaning service didn’t do a good job on removing pet hair in couch, behind furniture and under beds.

Lewes Beach itself is wonderful, but this property was terrible. It was one of the dirtiest places I have ever stayed. There were ants all over the kitchen, nothing had been swept or cleaned prior to our arrival. Multiple ACs were broken. During the stay, I had told the property manager about the issues. I then was expected to wait in the house for the exterminator to come, as well as the handyman for the AC (who was upset that I asked him to keep his mask on). The kicker was when I asked if there was a vacuum in the house - there was not and they went to buy one. Then someone dropped an unopened vacuum on the porch with the expectation that I needed to put it together (which I couldn’t because it needed a screwdriver). Upon leaving, I had contacted the property management multiple times with no response. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!

This property is a dump. The photos DO NOT match the actual furniture. There is not central air, instead each room has a junky window unit air conditioner. One bedroom air unit didn’t work, making that bedroom useless. The kitchen faucet leaks. The grill propane was empty, which was bad luck, but still annoying. The real kicker is that the electric dryer almost caught fire! When we tried to dry our clothes from the wash the dryer literally started smoking! The owners of this property clearly do not have it serviced in between stays. When I called the agent in charge of the rental to report issues and ask for a partial refund she basically told me that I would not see any refund and that I should “vote with my money” next year to avoid getting a crappy rental again. Don’t worry, Pam, I will vote with my money and will not be choosing BHHS Gallo next year. Good riddance.

The house was very cute and the location was AMAZING but it could have been a bit cleaner.

The location was perfect- steps to the beach, restaurants, shopping. Bungalow needs TLC by owner and is not represented accurately by online pictures. Outdoor furniture was Unusable-dilapidated and dirty, weeds overgrown by outdoor shower, AC units did not work well, living room furniture older and did not appear clean. No interior lock on outside shower. Washer/dryer worked well as did kitchen appliances. Pets allowed. We would not rent here again.
