2-story beach cottage with private patio, screened balcony, AC, & W/D

Cool house. Could be better: clean coffee pot, coffee filters, folding beach chairs, accurate info re beach access. info re operation of smart tvs/ stereo.

The house was clean and well-decorated. Not the usual kitschy-decorated beach house. Location was great and convenient to restaurants and Food Lion. Definitely will consider this listing for a future trip to Avon.

Overall this is a nice place, but there were several little things that prevent it from being a five-star. Many of them are simple fixes, making it even more disappointing. That’s just one of the negatives of renting from a rental company instead of directly from the property owner. The pros: - good size for 4 adults and 2 kids - living room and dining area is a great, spacious area - just a short walk to the beach and pretty much everything in Avon is a short walk or bike ride away - there is a nice area under the home for hanging out or letting the kids run around The cons: - floors were dirty - outside furniture, including the grill, were disgustingly dirty. When I told Vacasa they said outside furniture is not part of their cleaning routine, which doesn’t make much sense to us - screen door on the porch was broken completely defeating the benefits of a screened porch - the mattress in the upstairs bedrooms were terrible - there are two cameras on the property which we did not see in the listing. Even though we weren’t doing anything wrong, it still felt like we were being watched and we likely would not have booked if we knew they were there. I understand why the owners would want them ( I would probably install them if I owned a rental), but still not a fan as a guest.
