Stayed Sep 15, 2025We stayed at the Compass Cove Cottage from September 15-21.The cottage is charming and cozy with a rustic coastal vibe. There is a large deck off the large living room overlooking a quiet and private cove where we enjoyed the sunshine in the mornings while working remotely, then once again for cocktails in the evenings. There is a dock to access the water by the provided canoe or kayaks with paddles and PFDs included. There's a fire pit to gather around in the evening. The hot water for showers and dishes was plentiful. Martin is a wonderful, kind and considerate host. He was extremely welcoming. His wife Becky, who unfortunately we didn't get to meet, made us the most scrumptious and gigantic blueberry muffins from iconic wild Maine blueberries. They are genuine and lovely hosts. The cottage is nearby everything one might want to do and explore in the Boothbay Region. The area is so rich with history and fun things to do and see. Staying at Martin and Becky's Compass Cove Cottage was the icing on the entire week. Lisa and Ray

Stayed Aug 23, 2025We had a wonderful stay at Martin’s home. It is the quintessential, cozy Maine cottage nestled into a sleepy cove with incredible views and water access. The home is equipped with everything one would need and came with homemade muffins and a welcome basket! We highly recommend and hope to return!

Stayed Jul 18, 2025My sister and I loved the cozy cottage in the cove--and I even kayaked down the Little River to the ocean. The cabin was well-outfitted with everything we needed, and the gift basket and Becky's home-made muffins added an extra special warm touch. After always having stayed in busy Boothbay Harbor before trips out to Monhegan island, I loved the peacefulness of this place. We also took wonderful walks and visited the A Coastal Maine Botanical Garden.

Stayed Jul 11, 2025Loved the home and location. Cozy with warm wood interior charm. Freshly baked muffins and popcorn treats plus Maine blueberry jam and even a bottle of wine were on the table as a welcome gift. I would suggest the owners install a water filter for what I assume is well water. We bought drinking water to make coffee. The water there seems to be high in minerals and we just preferred bottled water. It was a lovely stay and we would certainly return. It was quiet and serene and just beautiful to look out at the cove and be out on the deck. Great gas barbecue too.

Stayed Jun 15, 2025We had a wonderful stay at this property. The owners were fantastic and very welcoming. The property had everything you could need. The grill was ready for use, fire wood was avaliable. The inside was fully stocked as well. The town was incredible. We would definitely recommend this place and if we ever make it back to Booth Bay we will stay at this location again.

Stayed Nov 7, 2024We had a wonderful relaxing stay. The view was beautiful with ducks and geese swimming in the cove. We also saw a crane, an eagle, and one night we saw 3 deer. The owners were friendly and helpful with any questions we had. There were homemade blueberry muffins when we arrived which were delicious! We are hoping to return in the spring.

Stayed Oct 9, 2024This place reminded me of my youth because the age of the house and the decor was complementary to my period. My son and I do this trip every year and we are so happy we found this place. The owners are perfect hosts and like-minded people that I enjoyed so much.

Stayed Jul 27, 2024Best part of this place is the dock where you can sit and watch the tide come in and go out. When it's out you see all kinds of birds (including one very elegant egret.). When it's in you can swim and kayak.

Stayed Jul 1, 2024As regular visitors to the Boothbay region, we enjoyed the comforts of Martin's cottage. Nestled directly on a picturesque saltwater cove, the cottage was very clean and well appointed. The large deck overlooking the cove was the highlight of our trip. It is a very quiet location with a lot of privacy. With just a short drive to downtown Boothbay Harbor, the cottage is in a very convenient location. Not to mention how close it is to Grimes Cove in Ocean Point, and also an easy walk to the bold ocean further up on King Phillips Trail. Hope to stay there again!
