We (family of 5, all grown-ups) had a very good time in this unique house in Vaucottes. When we arrived back at the house after our activities of the morning and afternoons, it was just so lovely to have this stunningly beautiful place waiting for us. The reception was friendly and helpful, and the information on the house and area in general was also very good. We managed to do and see a lot in the area, and a short walk from the house brought us to the beach surrounded by high cliffs. The beach was both great for swimming (at high tide) as well as a bit of rock-pooling (at low tide). The facilities in and around the house were good, clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful stay, thank you again.

It felt really special to stay in an old Normandy style house with history. The house and garden has all that one needs for a nice holiday. We also loved the setting of the house close to the GR route, the cliffs, woods and the sea.

Plenty of room, beds comfortable, kitchen well equipped. Overall the properties decoration was a little tired but did not detract from the comfort. The bathrooms and kitchen were very clean, my mum did find dust in the cupboard in her room but I think most people don't use the cupboards. Overall a beautiful property at a very reasonable price, literally 5 minutes walk from a little beach. If your after a peaceful get away it's perfect.

This villa is a little piece of history, located on the Normandy coast within walking distance of a beach (500m) and the GR21 trail (hiking options toward Yport and Étretat). The villa itself has everything to make a wonderful stay - plenty of dishes, cookware, games, books, lawn chairs, a BBQ grill, and space for a group to spread out (or be together!). Good communication with the property owner, and the local property manager is a delight and a wealth of knowledge about the area. There are local markets, bakeries, and fish markets in the surrounding villages and larger grocery stores within 15-20 minutes. Definitely fell in love with the region and this little slice of history in the Villa Marie Louise! Merci beaucoup!

We really enjoyed our family vacation in the house. The sea is only 5 minutes away. To note are the local gas costs, which add up when using the central heating. Alternatively, you can fire the large fireplace with wood, which is sufficiently available. For a family vacation to relax it is a great place.

It is always good to have something to look forward to, & the Villa Marie Louise occupied many a pleasant daydream in the months before arrival. Picture a high winding cliff road that leads from the sea to a bend & then through white gates open in welcome & here you are. The villa looks as if it’s been there forever, nestled in a magnificent bower of green & trees & roses & hortencias. Mme Senay gave the tour & saw us settled in. We were three, a small party to enjoy this rambling, peaceful eden for a week’s stay. It honestly could not have been better, from lunches out on the emerald lawn to dinners in the elegant dining room, from morning coffee enjoyed in solitude on ‘my’ bench, to stepping out of doors at dawn to inhale the scented sea air. What a place to write, & dream, & explore the neighborhood so close to the sea & the falaises filled with one beautiful house after the next. Very comfy beds, all the mod cons, but just a heavenly quiet & sense of peace & removal in this place, a little portal to the nineteenth century where you could take your time and breathe. We also utterly loved Yport, accessible by a hike along the cliffs or a quick drive away. Many thanks for opening your lovely home to guests, & I so look forward to a return.

We spent a great long weekend in the Villa Marie Louise. The gite itself is full of character and felt very welcoming. The lounge is big and the rooms a good size, clean and light especially the front room. The garden is wonderful and great if you have children or like us wanted a place to sit out and have a BBQ in the sun. You can walk to the sea from the gite and also above to the cliffs which give spectacular views over the Normandy coast. The only thing you have to be careful of is if you need to heat the place. Its big so you need to be careful with the heating otherwise the cost could increase significantly. I would definitely go again.
