19th-century barn. Calm, Nature. Close to the Dordogne tourist valley.

A beautiful place to stay in the countryside, with parking and an enclosed private garden, so perfect with our dog.Armelle and Patrice were lovely hosts - very welcoming and kind. The cottage is well positioned for hikes and attractions in the Dordogne region, also lovely walks in the woods nearby. It's very quiet (10-15 mins drive to the nearest town) and wifi is a little patchy.

We had a terrific stay at Patrice and Armelle's Gite. The hosts have large hearts and gave us a whole basket full of excellent local nuts. We were welcomed very warmly and kindly although we arrived late and Armelle helped us with all that we needed, including the rental and application of bedsheets. Patrice took much of his time for us during our stay. During one of the days, he super kindly showed us the proximity, their horses, and the plants around. The kids got attached to our hosts and their animals, including their dogs Luna and Chimpa. They have great patience and large emotional containers. We got excellent recommendations for the surroundings even though the weather was hot and tough. The place is very clean, extremely well entertained and although the kitchen is small, we made very nice meals. There are excellent Tefal pans and there is everything that is needed. There is much to learn from these happy, calm, kind, and modest people. The kids were very sad to leave and mentioned they were missing this home, hosts, and animals. We had a great experience and would love to come back again one day.

It was a really fun stay. The barn is just excellent. We even used the wood burning BBQ. Just be prepared that it is a barn on a farm. There were some ants in the walls, which needed to be driven away, as well as there were quite a bit of flies from the horses. There were several horses on the property and the flies just were all over them. So, we got some of the flies too. There is an air conditioner on the sleeping level, which were quite nice. Patrice was very nice and relaxed just about everything. We would go back again in a heartbeat.

Quiet location. The property is small and hot! The upstairs room is one large room which was ok for three, but overall the property would be too small for five. Owners welcoming but need to communicate early on about the requirements for recycling and cleaning needed when leaving. (The bins are about a mile down the road and the owner said we left it dirty and sent us cleaning bill! I disagree). My 2 year old granddaughter loved the animals however, the black dog did bite her on the face, fortunately it did not break the skin.

We loved our stay here. Patrice and Armelle were very helpful and made us feel very welcome. The property was just what we were looking for, affordable, clean and well presented. The conversion of the barn was extremely well done and we felt at home immediately. It was very well placed for exploring the Dordogne and Lot regions of France. Set in a peaceful away from it all area, but within easy reach of a lot of local attractions. We enjoyed many walks from the the property without having to get in the car. We also explored some of the area on our bikes and also visited local historic towns and Chateau's. We would definitely be looking to stay here again when we are next in the region.

We stayed here with our 2 year-old and couldn't have picked a better place for our holiday! It really is a paradise for small children with a climbing frame, swings, slide, sandpit, toys, games and, of course, all the animals! Our daughter insisted on going round each morning and saying good morning to all of them in turn; the horses, the fish, the chickens, the guinea pigs... and of course the dog, Luna, who quickly became her best friend. The owners, Patrice and Armelle, were incredibly warm and welcoming (despite my horrific French!) and were always ready to help - truly lovely people. The gite was spotless inside, with all the necessary bits and pieces, and the outside areas - particularly the BBQ area - really beautiful. Really can't recommend this place enough - especially if you have young children. Many thanks to Patrice and Armelle for our wonderful stay!

We simply could not have chosen a better property for our holiday. The owners are extremely caring but unobtrusive. The property is a little gem which has been hand-built by the owner M. Patrice. The level of attention and care is visible throughout the property and it does not feel like a rental property, in fact we were surprised by how we felt at home in a very short space of time. This is a lovely property for all ages but special attention has been placed on kids and teenagers not only in the choice of furniture but also on extras such as toys, magazines and board games. Surely a hand thing to have for the of the odd rainy day. We especially enjoyed the decking overlooking the horses down the field, so much so that we've ended up not using the barbecue area on this occasion. (Note to self: must do it next time around!) The region provides loads of attractions, from going down the river on canoes to visiting castles, chateaux, wine producers, caves, horse riding, uncountable restaurants and local produce markets and stores. Look for the tin with leaflets and magazines over the table in the little office below the stairs, it is all there, no need to do any work looking for what to do. I would not hesitate recommending this property to guests of all ages and in particular for families wanting to get away from it all.
