A home away from home, a tranquil haven for relaxing and noticing nature and wildlife at its finest with spectacular 180° oceanfront views. You can relax in the hot tub or enjoy the spacious sunroom. It is a quiet retreat, a romantic getaway, or a fabulous family vacation. The living area offered is over 2400 sq. ft. with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large living room, dining room, sunroom, and spacious kitchen. The basic rate is for five people, (including adults and kids).Extra charge for 6th person. It is not rented for non-registered visitors to visit or to be on the property at any time. No pets.

Our comfortable west coast waterfront character home is located at the end of a quiet narrow lane 15 min. from downtown Victoria but has a country feel. Public stairs down to the rocky sandy beach are steps away, great for families. Many beaches are nearby.

Relax in a hot tub. Gaze at ocean waves, clouds, birds, herons, eagles, otters, kayakers, paddle boarders, boats drifting by, colourful sunrises over the ocean, stars at night, and moonrises. It seems you are on top of the world. There’s a wide sand bar in front of our oceanfront house at very low tide in the summer. Check out our video of views at sunset.

This home's old world charm includes in-laid oak flooring throughout with fine architectural details, such as special crown moldings and leaded glass entrance doors, vintage style. From the main rooms, you have a 180° view of the ocean. The house is built on rock overlooking the sea, incredible beauty and wildlife.

Our property is fenced, young children need close supervision. Rather than a lawn surrounding the house, we have a long oceanfront concrete patio and flower borders, outdoor chairs and a table overlooking spectacular ocean views for you to enjoy. The lower wooden deck and stairs are unavailable.

The large, but cozy, living room and dining room are filled with picture windows providing abundant light. We hope you enjoy our piano, collection of antiques, vintage and modern furniture, colourful landscape art, local First Nations nature art, and photographs of places and art around the world.

Cable TV in living room and the main floor bedroom. Internet in the house. On the main floor there is a bedroom with a queen size bed and furniture that suits the old style of the house. Next to it is a small bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink. Upstairs features a very spacious bedroom, with a queen bed, a twin bed and a juliet balcony overlooking the ocean. Jetted jacuzzi tub and shower, toilet sink is also upstairs. Across the hall there is a bedroom with a double bed.

Within 2 km are two golf courses. Nearby is the Lochside trail, excellent for cycling long distances or jogging in a country setting. Also enjoy Rithits Bog, OuterBridge Park, Beaver/Elk Lake Park, Mount Douglas Park all very close by.

A short 15 min. drive northwest are the famous Butchart Gardens, Butterfly World and Wineries. We are within 20 to 25 min. from the airport and the BC Ferries.

It is not rented for events or parties, nor for non-registered guests to visit or park at any time, as we are in a very quiet neighbourhood with no off-site parking on the lane available. Parking on-site for SUV and smaller car or on a different street. No smoking and no drugs permitted on property. No pets.

**As required by local bylaws and BC bylaws, owner stays at one end of the property, separated from the rental area with a separate entrance, and is respectful of guest privacy.

Book a trip with your family, maximum 5 guests including children. Extra daily charge for a 6th guest is possible.

Your Beautiful Home
Overall, we have had a magical stay at your place. It was so nice to be able share Cordova Bay and all our memories with my children. Now they have their own memories of this special place. We just loved everything about this house and hope to make this visit a tradition. I can't express to you enough what a wonderful time the family had staying at your beautiful home. My daughter had a school assignment to draw a picture of her current dream. I am attaching a picture of it for you to see. Thank you for checking in. I really hope that we can arrange another visit to Cordova Bay in the near future. (S.N. ) I can't tell you how much each and everyone of us loved our time at your home in Cordova Bay. We had so many special adventures, wonderful family evenings in the living room, great fun creating delicious family meals in your huge kitchen, and so much more. We are already talking of a return visit. Kathy T. (S.N's Mom) Hawaii and Portland,

What an Amazing Property
Our family traveled to Vancouver Island from 6/17-6/20/15. From the first contact I made with Donna about renting this beautiful home she was very prompt in replying and it remained that way whenever I had a question, very quick to reply! We LOVED this house. It was beautifully located, access to the beach below was easy and the views were stunning. Donna emailed during the week as well to make sure things were good. We would highly recommend renting this house for every reason. Thanks Donna. We would definitely rent this home again if we make it back to Vancouver Is. Drew McLaren

Perfect Place for a Family or Couple
Our family stays in Victoria for about 3 weeks each summer. This is our 3rd rental house and our favorite by far! The pictures are accurate, but my favorite view is the ocean from the master bedroom. Our favourite room is the sun room where we found ourselves almost every night. The house is in a very quiet location so, while you are close to everything (shopping, groceries, a couple nice restaurants....) you feel so peaceful and 'away from it all'. Morning walks on the beach are wonderful Bring your water shoes! There are walking/biking trails close too. We found the owner to be very nice and responsive -- not intrusive at all. We are renting the house again for summer 2014 -- I am really looking forward to my early morning coffee while sitting outside and watching the ocean. One day I hope to visit in the Fall just to enjoy the scenery and relax. Perfect! Lisa K.

We had an absolutely wonderful time. The place was spotlessly clean, and the pictures just don't do it justice. We spent so much time just sitting in the living room enjoying the view, and cooking in the expansive kitchen. The sunroom is also a gem. The access to the beach is fantastic, and going out at low tide is great. On one of the quietest little streets I could imagine, almost really a country road just off the main road. Fantastic! Nice property. Old but nice. Spacious and the views are spectacular. Communication with the host was easy. We enjoyed the hot tub very much after a day of sightseeing. the host lives on the property but totally at the other end and there are absolutely no common shared areas. I do agree with a previous comment saying that the kitchen could be a little more equipped but it still worked fine. I would rent again. We had a great time.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that one in want of rest must find a place most charming—and here, dear reader, we did just that.Perched upon the sparkling edge of Vancouver Island, this lovely home welcomed us with warmth, comfort, and views so splendid they would make even the most composed lady sigh with delight. The sea, ever-changing and always enchanting, was our constant companion—morning, noon, and starlit night. The house itself is a model of tasteful simplicity, with every convenience thoughtfully provided—as though our hosts possessed a most admirable talent for hospitality without intrusion. We strolled, we sipped, we stared dreamily at the waves. In short, we were restored. To leave was a sorrow. To return? A hope most ardent.

Our family of five adults spent four nights in this very captivating home on a quiet waterfront property. Views of Cardova Bay were wonderful. This spacious house is cozy with many lovely vintage pieces. Although we took a break from cooking, the kitchen was well outfitted and was stocked with spices, cooking oil etc. There were many rooms including a sun room to sit as a group or individually. Linens and towels were plentiful and the beds were good. Thank you Donna for sharing this lovely home.

The host was very friendly and responsive. They were on-site, which some may appreciate, though it occasionally felt a bit close for comfort. The location is beautiful, with stunning ocean views. While not a true beachfront, a public staircase beside the house leads to the water. Beach access is tide-dependent — at high tide, the shoreline is minimal. The house has charm and a cozy, older feel, but some areas could use maintenance. We noticed loose handles, wobbly furniture, and a living room layout that’s not ideal for watching TV.The kitchen is large and well-equipped, though the many cupboards made it hard to find things quickly. The hot tub is a great addition, but it wasn’t very clean on arrival — there was some sand and debris. We saw a few spider webs inside and outside, which is expected in a wooded coastal setting, but worth noting if you’re traveling with kids. Our biggest challenge was the checkout request to wash and dry towels before leaving. With an early flight, this meant skipping showers on our last day, which was stressful to manage.Overall, it’s a unique property in a gorgeous setting. With a bit more attention to upkeep and more flexible checkout rules, it could be a truly special getaway

Our party of four absolutely loved our stay at this spacious, charmingly decorated, comfortable, and well-appointed home. The birdsong, ambiance and unobstructed ocean view from every room created a relaxing and magical experience. We saw eagles, otters, and all kinds of birds from the expansive terrace overlooking the ocean where we watched stunning sun rises, relaxed in the early mornings over breakfast and in the evenings over drinks. The property is an easy drive to Butchart Gardens and all there is to see in Victoria. After a day touring the city, it was so peaceful to return to the oceanview home. Donna is a wonderful non-intrusive host whose pride of ownership has made her property so welcoming and special.

The views from the living room and upstairs master bedroom are spectacular. There is a rocky area just off the beach that grows and shrinks with the tide. We watched seals, otters, and an eagle use it as a resting spot. Bring your binoculars! It's on a quiet, dead-end street, so we all slept well. The house was about 20 minutes away from all the places we wanted to visit during our 5-day stay: airport, Butchart Gardens, and downtown Victoria. It easily accommodated our party of 5 adults, including my 93-year old mother, who uses a walker. The downstairs shower is big enough for a shower chair. (We ordered it from Amazon to be delivered there, and the owner was nice enough to accept delivery the day before our arrival). It has a well-equipped kitchen, although we only cooked breakfast. For regular VRBO renters, just be aware the house doesn't have the collection of leftover pantry items from previous guests, so you'll need to hit the store if you want cooking oil, sugar, etc. It does have a set of spices if you plan to do more cooking than we did.The owner lives adjacent to the rental, and there are some shared walls. She was very nice to deal with, and we only ran into her once, in the parking area. It didn't bother us at all. But if you plan to break the rules and have a huge party, look elsewhere.
