Pisgah Forest, North Carolina
Private, quiet and secluded, Aunt Babbies Cabin is one of two log cabins on this property. This is an authentic, restored pre-Civil War structure that was dismantled and moved from Virginia and rebuilt with modern conveniences. Larger parties may want to consider renting the "Sarah's Cabin" as well if you need extra bedrooms.
Aunt Babbie’s cabin dates from about 1850 and Sarah’s cabin from about 1820. They adjoin each other and share a stone terrace so that they are only steps apart for easy access, while retaining enough privacy that separate groups can enjoy the experience.
Massive 75-year-old boxwoods surround Aunt Babbie’s cabin for privacy on the front porch. Downstairs, Aunt Babbie’s has rustic barn timber floors, walls and cabinets salvaged from a local camp’s 1950s barn; full kitchen; bath with shower; and living room with stone fireplace and tv. The sofa bed sleeps two. The charming upstairs room has a rustic hickory twig queen bed, antique youth bed, tv and a lovely little romantic fireplace. There is no internet.
FOUR NIGHT MINIMUM STAY REQUIRED FOR THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY.

A wonderful charming and comfortable cabin nestled deep in the woods just outside of Brevard. Lots to do in the area and definitely will return one day. It was clean and well stocked with the essential needs. It is a little difficult to find, make sure to follow the directions from downtown Brevard and don't rely on Google maps. Loved our short stay. Thank you!
We really enjoyed our stay. Loved the property and the care in which it was decorated. The setting was beautiful, historic log cabin very clean and well maintained. Located far enough from town to feel isolated, but close enough to civilization for excellent restaurants, shopping and groceries within 15-20 minutes from the cabin. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
we had no idea the location was so far out of town. the cabin is beautiful, but all we could see was the cobwebs, spiders, no bath soap, the mattress cover had blood stains, had no idea where to put trash, or where the laundry was. we were very much looking forward to staying, but very disappointed and only stayed one night.
My family enjoyed our stay. A few things however I felt could have been better. 1. In the corner of the room was a cricket stick pad full of dead crickets. I understand the need for the stick pad but it could have been cleaned or replaced. 2. the refrigerator door had an extreme amount of black mold on the door seal. We did see the note about “closing” the freezer tight but that mold was pretty gross. 3. The bushes surrounding the porch were so tall that we couldn’t enjoy the view while sitting on the porch. I appreciate the privacy but it would have been nice to see the landscape. 4. Upon check out I began to remove the sheets and noticed the mattress pad was stained. I immediately stopped because I was grossed out. The last thing that would have been nice was a heads up about the road leading to the cabin. Arriving at dusk, we felt unsure if our GPS was leading us in the right direction. Thanks
We loved it! Very quick to respond.
We had a great time at this quiet, beautiful spot near Brevard. Just what we wanted!
We had a wonderful stay. Most of our time was spent with family, but we enjoyed the location, the quiet, the mountain laurel!
We loved our stay and fell in love with Aunt Babbie's cabin. It is small and basic, but all that is needed for a peaceful forest escape.
It was a true delight! It rained the whole weekend and that only amplified the magic of the cabin. Falling asleep to the rain on the roof was such a treat. The home is so perfect we wanted to never ever leave! And the surroundings are so idyllic we do envy the owners. What a treasure!
