We stayed for a few days, while my son attended orientation at the nearby berry college. Everything was exactly as described, nature all around us, the owners left tons of things in the house, we kayaked, fished (1 bass, 5 catfish). And they were very laid back and helpful. Thank you for a great time.
for the money this was a good choice. the owners were so nice and the place was well stocked with what you need. we spent a lot of time on the screened in porch
We had a wonderful stay. It was peaceful and relaxing. I would vacation here again.
Mobile home was a bit outdated..needs some refreshing. The bathtub was nice and large so the threat of being touched by shower curtain was eliminated.not too impressed with the condition of the neighborhood. Minimal privacy.the owners were very accommodating. For the price I think I will opt for a cabin in the woods.cave springs was disappointing so we had to drive to rome to get things we needed. Would have been nice to have a clean hot tub to soak in out back but overall the owners were so nice it almost made up for the mobile home. Oh..also the description was a bit confusing..There is one queen bed bedroom and a bedroom with two twin beds. There is a hide bed couch but the couch is so lopsided I'm not sure how comfortable it would be..one side of the couch swallows you the other side is hard.good place for guys fishing getaway
We enjoyed our stay a lot. The screened porch was where we spent most of our time. The home was clean and well stocked. We enjoyed cooking on the grill and fishing from the dock.
This is truly a hidden gem. A great place to get away from everything. The listing, photos and location are as described. The property was very clean and well maintained . The owners where helpful in answering questions and giving directions. My only regrets are leaving my camera at home but I am sure I will visit again in the future maybe next with my boys. A great place to fish even though I didn't fish they where jumping all over the place.
We so enjoyed our stay with Big Cedar rentals. The accommodation was comfy, adequate, and very kid friendly. The views off the front and back decks are great. Lots of fishing choices and the kids especially loved kayaking and exploring Big Cedar. Many photo opportunities of area wildlife made the whole lake experience even more memorable for us. It’s just a great place to get away and enjoy nature with family and friends.
We spent a very relaxing weekend here while attending my granddaughter's graduation from Berry College in Rome, Georgia. The accommodations couldn't have been better. The deck overlooking the water was my favorite place, but the home was clean and well suited for our purposes. The owner was delightful, courteous and helpful (especially with directions). Travel time to and from Rome was much less than anticipated and well worth it. The facility was definitely a home away from home with all the amenities necessary for cooking & serving (indoor or out). I would highly recommend this property to anyone who enjoys fishing, boating, just simply peace and quiet, or entertaining a large family in a home away from home. I'll certainly return for another visit when I can - and look forward to it.
My family of six stayed here during our Thanksgiving 2010 vacation to visit family in Rome. It's a cozy little place, very nicely situated in the woods next to the lake. Of course, being fall of a drought year, the water was low. Our children and their cousins, ranging in age from 7 to 17, had a great time wandering in the woods and along the lake shore and playing on the pier. It's a little way out from Rome, but we could easliy be in Rome in 15-20 minutes and into Armuchee in 25-30 minutes, so we didn't mind the drive. We will definitely stay here again. It was a very nice inexpensive alternative to our normal hotel accommodations. We will actually be able to visit our family more often with the lower costs.
