Small Town Florida

This is our 4th time at the Mermaid Shack and won’t be the last . The property has continued to improve with time . We were very comfortable . It was very clean . We were able to sleep very we no you’re fine. What was that sound? No, it’s usll because the beds were comfortable, and all other rooms were well equipped and supplied ( laundry room, bathrooms, kitchen, dining room. ) The living room was cozy . AC worked great! And the grounds were just perfect to walk around for our pet dog as well as us . There were lots of birds , squirrels and some bunny rabbits to observe. Last but not least , our hosts were wonderful and responsive. Thank you Terri and Doug !

The house was perfect for what we needed. It was a clean, safe and comfortable environment for my sisters and our kids. The large fenced in yard was great for the toddlers to explore and sitting on the front porch watching the lizards and bunnies was a highlight for the kids. Counting the amount of mermaids in the house was fun for the kids as well. The hosts provided everything that could have been thought of. Communication with the hosts was great as well.We came down to Florida to support my parents through my dad's surgery and he unfortunately made his way to Heaven the day of checkout. I messaged the hosts about possibly needing a late checkout and they were compassionate and understanding of the situation. I would recommend this place to others.

Doug and Terri do an outstanding job of making the Mermaid Shack feel like home. Place is immaculate, and they even have coffee availale ! They are available for any questions or if you need anything. Home is close to stores and restaurants. We enjoy the Bay

It was our family’s 3rd time to stay at the Mermaid Shack. Terri and Doug have kept this place new ! Even though we were happy with it before , we noticed that they have put in additions and new changes to the property and home itself that made it even more comfortable to stay in . Some of our favorites were the comfortable beds , recliners, efficient washing machine , dryer and most of all , AC And in their usual fashion, our hosts, Terri and Doug continued to be very accessible if we ever needed anything.Thank you so much ! We are sure to be back again in the future

The house was clean. Owners had made an obvious effort to provide extras to make our stay comfortable. We loved the quiet country living.

Beautiful, quiet country spot but close to tourist spots, stores and restaurants. Hope to come back again..

We enjoyed our stay at the Mermaid Shack on a trip for a family wedding andxrelaxation. We truly appreciated the fact that our furbabies were welcome and there was plenty if room for them to safely roam as the property is fenced. Plenty of indoor room for 6 people. Awesome that the house was fully stocked and neat as a pin. The property is a short drive to many of the outdoor activities in which one participates in FL but not an undoable drive. If you are kayaking, checkout Weekie Wachee boat/kayak ramp and Hernando Beach public boat ramp. Also, Ozella Trail road ( north) great area for fishing and kayaking. If you are looking for a beach in the area, check out the beach/park in New Port Richey (46 min drive). We lLOVED our stay and hope to eeturn next spring!

We really enjoyed the Mermaid Shack, everything was perfect for us and the dogs. It was total tranquility and we would certainly stay again.
