Romantic Get-a-Way!! 1954 Rail Road Caboose!! Relaxing Hot Tub!

Beautifully private place to relax with my spouse. Enjoyed the unique experience of the caboose. Able to unwind in the hot tub. Enjoyed the fire place. Wonderful host who goes above and beyond to assure guest comfort.

Such an enjoyable stay at this unique and quaint VRBO. The caboose was spotless and well stocked with anything one could need. Loved the fireplace and hot tub! John was most accommodating - keeping us informed of upcoming snowstorm before our reservation and offering to extend our stay or reschedule at the last minute.

My husband and I had such an amazing experience here! First of all, there was a big snow storm the night before we were to arrive. John stayed in contact the entire time with updates on the roads, they received 10 inches of snow, which allowed us to arrive safely. The caboose is exactly as pictured, with a few unexpected gifts from our host. It was clean and cozy. The hot tub was our favorite part, especially getting to enjoy it in the colder temps. This is beautiful territory to explore with so much wildlife, especially eagles! We even had one flyover while in the hot tub. We found phenomenal food at different locations. We wish we could have stayed another day. Instead, we’ll settle for coming back with the family.

We had a magical winter wonderland weekend at the Caboose! Our train loving 5 yr old was so excited about staying in a train. Really beautiful spot out in western valleys of WI, almost feels like being in the mountains. Was very peaceful and relaxing to watch the snow fall from the hot tub. If you love coffee, would recommend bringing your own reusable K-cup or French press as the caboose only has a small keurig machine. Also, the beds are a bit worn down, can feel coils in the futon mattress and lower bunk bed. Would recommend bringing a mat or topper if you desire more comfort. Overall 10/10, will be back!

Very cozy winter getaway in the woods! Was lovely to hang out in the hot tub in the snowy evening and made a little bonfire to enjoy a glass of wine before making dinner.

Our host thought of everything! The towels are warm and comfortable. The decorating is adorable! The hot tub is awesome. The host even provided fire wood, lighter fluid, newspaper and starter brick. A nice bottle of wine was waiting for us!

Check in/out instructions were clear and easy. Property was great, very secluded. The unit as a whole was comfortable and clean, with everything we could need provided for us. Only downside was the ladybugs swarming everywhere. Took us an hour after checking in to get rid of them all.

Excellent property. Everything was very nice & comfy. The firepit was great - wood already stacked for us. Hot tub was extremely clean & very relaxing. The deck was very nice in the mornings to listen to the birds - squirrels were very chatty. Inside the caboose was wonderful. Was able to use the wood stove - it warmed the room nicely. Loved the train deco. My husband was very jealous... and now wants a caboose in the backyard! Local restaurants were very good. The backroads were fun to explore. The host was wonderful - communication was very easy. Would definitely recommend a stay here... we will definitely be back!

This is a great getaway!!! John is a great host. The caboose is just the way it is described. It rained most of the time we were there, so we were unable to take advantage of the grill and firepit, but we still enjoyed the birds singing and the quietness. There are many things to see/do in the area and we had a fun time.

My hubby & I had a fabulous, fun & unique 25th Anniversary here! Beautiful area, lots of wild life, relaxing hot tub & scenic drives to the nearby towns. “Coffee on the River” is a cute place for breakfast & the Great River Road is a must! Thank you John for the gift card & wine! Den & Amy

My daughter and I have been finding unusual places for a quick girls getaway and this place did not disappoint. Check in was so easy and we received a code to enter. Check out was easy with a checklist to complete. Great communication with owner. We were able to bring out small old dog with once we paid a small extra fee, 40. The place was a perfect time to spend time together and make memories. I'd definitely recommend!

My best friend and I stayed in this cabin for a fun get together. We would highly recommend it! The hot tub was a plus and the area was very lush and well maintained. Our dogs also enjoyed their time getting to explore the area and having so much room in the yard. Thanks for a great stay!

Unique and beautiful!

We had a wonderful stay at the caboose. The hot tub was wonderful after long days of hiking and being on the road. The host was very attentive and resposive. The only feedback for this property was the sleeping arrangement. The futon was rather uncomfortable and we both ended up sleeping in the bunkbeds the second night which killed the romantic vibbit.

I booked this trip for my boyfriend who is obsessed with trains. This was a great surprise for him and came at the perfect time after a stressful weekend. It was such a great get away and a good reset before jumping back to reality. There were some concerning areas with hair left in the shower, a brown sludge/ residue in the hot tub, and overall dirt/ dust build up in the caboose. We definitely will be back!

We enjoyed a weekend at this cozy, well-appointed caboose. The hot tub gazebo was delightful and owner John was quick to respond to questions and requests.

Very nice well appointed and secluded get-away. Cozy cast iron stove took the spring chill off. It is well located for my adventure visiting a number of the state parks in SW Wisconsin.

The unique quiet location with indoor and outdoor amenities did not disappoint. The intent of our trip was to escape busy. This was perfect!

We were thrilled to be staying in an actual railway car that was turned into a comfortable and cozy suite. While the location is somewhat remote, it was about fifteen minutes from main roads that led to area attractions, restaurants, etc. Our host John was very accessible and accommodating, providing a truly unique travel experience.

Loved the views, remoteness of the property, and primarily the hot tub! Couldn't have asked for a better stay!

This was our second time visiting the caboose, and it won't be our last! The host is very responsive and kind, and we really appreciated the welcome note and goodies. The caboose itself is a dream, especially surrounded by snow. We loved spending our day hiking and our night cozy in the caboose. Our pups loved it, too!If you're looking for a hike and scenic drive, I highly recommend Wyalusing State Park. We saw 7 Bald Eagles on the drive from Wyalusing back to the caboose!

This was a great place to go and get away from the computers and normal day hustle and bustle of life, and spend quality time with the wife. Would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I had our 18 year anniversary and the host made it even more special! We had such a relaxing time staying at the Caboose. From the hot tub to the thick fluffy towels as well as the fireplace to the heated bathroom. Everything was perfect.The scenery was absolutely beautiful and seeing various wildlife made it even more special. Will definitely be returning for another stay! Thank you!!

We had a wonderful stay over Christmas. Lights were strung up and the path to the hottub cleared of snow. Totally idyllic. The futon is very firm, but otherwise our stay was perfect.

We had a great and relaxing time. We loved the quiet and just being able to be lazy in the hot tub and by the bonfire. Its a great location and the drive there is so beautiful.

This was our 2nd visit here, both in December. Both times were a great visit! The caboose is always warm and inviting with everything all ready for our visit. I would highly recommend!

We would highly recommend this property to any couple with a pet! Theres a perfect amount of space to move around, it’s very clean, and John has all you need to survive. The quiet is welcome to relax. There are many hiking trails nearby with great views of the Mississippi river. This is a must visit place!

I booked this as a surprise getaway for my Husbands birthday. Don't be fooled at the size of this caboose, my husband is 64' 220lbs and fit! we stayed two wonderful evenings. Watched some football, played some board games, had a fire and enjoyed the outdoor hot tub. We would come back again.

The property is in a secluded location but close to local towns for anything you need. John was a great host and the caboose has everything you will need. Very clean and the bonus on a hot tub. We would recommend staying here to anyone and will definitely be back!

This caboose is adorable! It was clean and everything was in working order. We were provided with everything we needed from coffee, towels, utensils, kitchen supplies and ample blankets! The location is remote and quiet, we would love to stay again!

Other than the unexpected 4 mile dirt road to this secluded location, EVERYTHING was exactly as described. It felt a bit like an RV but with the hot tub amenity and large plush towels. Communication with John, the owner was so prompt unlike any other VRBO owners ive dealt with. John is THE BEST. THANK YOU.

We had a great stay. The caboose is everything in the listing and more! The host thought of everything and had wine in the fridge for us upon arrival as well as some bottled water. Plenty of tea and coffee choices. Firewood for a fire and the hot tub was very nice. Would definitely recommend.

My wife and I were looking for a getaway that had a hot tub and was pet friendly to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were so excited to discover this gem! Our stay at the caboose with our dog Jack was pure joy! You can feel how special this place is when you arrive. The caboose is so unique, you can see the love and craftsmanship that was put into it. We enjoyed hot tubing each evening in the screen in porch after a beautiful day of hiking. Our dog Jack joined us in the porch looking at wildlife…it was perfect! The caboose had everything we needed and was so comfortable. John was an excellent host! Made us feel right at home. We are already planning a return trip next year!!

The caboose is easily one of the most magical tiny homes I have travelled to and what’s more amazing is that you have all of the comforts of home (a/c, wifi, clean and spacious kitchen and bathroom, and even a hot tub)! Better yet is that it is pet friendly so I could travel with and spend an amazing few nights alongside my dog. I could not recommend this property wnough and hope to return some time! John was not only one of the most gracious hosts I’ve encountered, but there were also gifts upon arrival that set the tone for what proved to me a wonderful stay!

What a fun getaway! The caboose is even more amazing in person. The hot tub is a wonderful addition, and the fire pit was is cozy. It was a very hot couple of days when we stayed, and the air conditioner kept us cool. Great stay overall.

The caboose was so cute! Clean and had everything you need. We enjoyed the hot tub and coffee on the deck, taking in the beautiful surroundings. Just a tip to fellow bikers: the last stretch of road is about 3 miles of gravel. Do-able, but just FYI.

Second time staying at the caboose, and it continues to be a beautiful and relaxing setting. John is a thorough and thoughtful host with good communication.
