This is one of the very few nightly rentals that provides an automatic backup generator in the event of power outage to south Brewster County.

Bring your camera and get ready to relax! Drive or Fly-in! The choice is yours.

We take great pains to insure that our facility is sanitized and disinfected as much as possible between visiting guests.

This is a 107 acre property full of wildlife, cactus, birds and hiking. This is a NON-smoking and No Pet rental. There is a $250fee for violation of either of these policies. This property is accessible by car (the last 3 miles is a well maintained gravel road). The RV is a 34' 2018 Jayco Eagle Series bumper pull with two queen beds. This RV is equipped with huge flat screen TV, wifi, bluetooth stereo, double-door refrig/freezer, oven, range, outdoor gas grill, a gas griddle and a wood fired barbque pit with mesquite provided. This also comes equipped with 2 factory A/Cs and central heat, coffee pot with timer and a counter top icemaker. You will also find on-site a large charcoal/wood bar-b-q pit and lots of mesquite wood to cook with.

Also at the disposal of the customer is a 10'x 45' covered wooden deck with chairs and a ceiling mounted mister system for hot summer days. Beautiful views of Bell Mountain, White Horse Mtn and the Christmas Mtns can all be seen from this vantage point, none more than a mile and a half from the porch. This deck is also equipped with five 8' roll down screens for additional comfort from extreme heat. Of course there is a propane gas fire pit and a Chiminea with ample pinion pine firewood for cold winter days and nights. Enjoy the viewing of scaled quail, eurasian and white winged doves, mule deer, javelina, fox, coyote, ravens and red-tailed hawks. Blackbear, mountain lions and bobcats have also been seen close to the house. Absolutely no hunting or discharge of firearms is allowed. This home is completely dependant on rainfall. We request that all visitors limit their water consumption. These quarters come with a 6 gallon water heater which helps reduce long showers. Due to the various types of wildlife in the area and customer allergies, we have a no pet policy that is strictly enforced. There is also a $250 fee for violation of this policy.

There is a home on-site which is the owners private residence and customers are not permitted with it's use. The RV is located under a carport next to the owner’s home. If you Fly-in, we can arrange to have you picked up and provide you a 6-person UTV for rental if requested.

Area attractions include but are not limited to: Big Bend National Park (with access to a rowboat ride into Old Mexico for lunch and shopping), Big Bend Ranch State Park, Terlingua Ghostown, Lajitas Golf Resort, a beautiful River Road trip along the Rio Grande to Presidio, TX, chartered rafting down the Rio Grande through Santa Elena Canyon or Boquillas Canyon, and dinner at the Starlight Theatre in the ghostown. You are welcome to bring your own mountain bikes, ATV’s or UTV’S and ride out right from your front door. This property is a scenic 40 minute drive from the National Park.

Closer to home (1/2mile south) , you will find the Terlingua Ranch Headquarters office open 7 days a week, along with a cabana and bath house at the swimming pool. The ranch headquarters area also has a 7 day a week/ 3 meals a day café known as The Bad Rabbit. There is also a laundromat located very close to the mgmt. office where they also sell bagged ice, logo T-shirts, wine glasses, caps and koozies.

If you are fortunate enough to have owners Mark and Michelle there on a visit at the time of your stay, you will surely benefit from their knowledge of the area and their ability (price negotiable) to take you on a UTV guided tour of more of the unknown areas of the 225,000 acre Terlingua Ranch.

There is a 10%discount on the nightly rate for Veterans. Copy of military ID card required. Call Mark at 806-781-7814, please leave a message.

Our stay at Casita de Chiles was absolutely incredible and became one of our favorite trips we've ever taken. Mark and Michelle were amazing hosts and truly made the experience special. You can tell they genuinely care about both their guests and their property. The location was exactly what we hoped for — peaceful, remote, and completely off the beaten path. We were surrounded by breathtaking views of the Christmas Mountains and spent our nights under some of the clearest skies we've ever seen. The stargazing alone was worth the trip. The wildlife experience was unbelievable. During our stay we saw deer, quail, javelina, Mexican cardinals, bats, scorpions under UV light, a tarantula, and even a rattlesnake. It truly felt like stepping into another world. A major highlight was the excursion with Mark and Michelle. We spent about 6.5 hours covering roughly 52 miles exploring Terlingua Ranch. They showed us incredible canyons, beautiful views, and hidden places we never would have found ourselves. It felt less like a tour and more like spending the day with friends. And we can’t forget Chula, who completely stole our hearts. If you want peace, adventure, wildlife, dark skies, and a chance to disconnect and recharge, this place is perfect. We’ll be talking about this trip for a long time and hope to return.

The RV was clean and comfortable with all necessary items(bath, kitchen, linens) provided. There is a large refrigerator, so you can bring your own food (recommended, as it’s 32 miles to the nearest store or restaurant). The steps up into the RV could be an issue for a person with mobility problems as they are steep. Very comfortable bed. This IS an RV, so bathroom odor is noticeable; it's a good idea to bring your own fragrances to combat the smell. The property this is on is fantastic, exactly what we went to Big Bend for. It is isolated enough for a camping experience but easy enough to travel for other activities. We enjoyed bird watching from the covered porch, as well as a regular parade of foxes, deer, javelinas, and quail ( apologies if I missed anyone 😉.) The stars at night are unbelievable, we went on the dark of the moon. There is good water, use it sparingly as this is the desert. The hosts are wonderful people, they encouraged us to treat this as our home. We very much enjoyed sitting on the porch and hearing stories of the area. Ask the host before visiting about excursions they provide, we missed the opportunity but plan to next time.

Loved our visit to this property! The hosts were just wonderful. There are great hiking opportunities for daytime and in the evenings we sat on the porch watching deer, fox and lots of birds come right into the yard to eat. It was amazing!! We definitely will return to this property.

We were greeted upon arrival and given an overview of the property. The hosts were very welcoming and made us feel like we could reach out for help at any time. The RV was spacious for the 3 of us. There was plenty of space to sit and relax outdoors as well. We saw animals every night, either outside the windows or from the porch. Although the RV and the hosts home is right next to each other, they allow you to use space as independently as you would like. If you want privacy, they honor that. If you’d like company, they’re great to chat with and have a sweet pup to give attention to. The Bad rabbit is close by so if you don’t want to travel far to eat, it’s a great choice. If driving a low clearance vehicle, take it slow the last few miles. Not only will it keep you from bottoming out, but it’ll give you a chance to look for animals on the way to the RV. Great place, great views, and great hosts!

We had a truly excellent stay with Mark and Michelle! The amenities, location, and space were all clean and exactly as described, perfect for visiting Big Bend National Park. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, starry sky, and wildlife sightings and slept comfortably every night.Mark and Michelle greeted us upon arrival and showed so much hospitality throughout our stay that we felt like family. They were extremely helpful and kind, frequently offering great recommendations for our time in West Texas, including tips for visiting Boquillas while in Big Bend. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them on their porch in the evenings, but always felt that we had enough privacy when we wanted it. All told, I highly recommend staying with Mark and Michelle! You would be hard pressed to find better hosts anywhere.

I booked this trip for my husband and our 3 adult children( 21,21, 23) home from college. I wanted them to enjoy themselves right before Christmas. I was told how wonderful their experience had been. Everything went so well. Communication was wonderful, directions easy, the set up was clean and comfortable, and the feeling was like visiting family. After the long days of hiking they enjoyed the hot tub for sure. The abundance of wild live was very welcoming. My family loved the interaction with the hosts and the helpful advice and information they shared.

If youve never stayed in the Terlingua Ranch, I highly encourage you to try it! The stars at night are so vibrant, with absolutely zero light pollution interference. The owners of this property were such a delight to visit with. They have gone out of their way to ensure that your stay is comfortable, enjoyable, and most of all memorable. We booked this lodging as a base of operations for day trips into Big Bend National Park. When initially driving in to the property, the location seemed remote. But for us, that turned out to be a wonderful advantage. We loved our hikes in BBNP, with the Chisos Basin area our favorite. Yet we saw much more birds and other wildlife just outside our door at Casita de Chiles. Our sightings included deer, quail, fox, jack rabbit, coyote, javelina, and a wonderful array of exotic bird life, many of which I was able to photograph. The sweet relaxing sound of avian calls serenaded us from sunrise to sunset. The Casita itself was beyond our expectations. All possible amenities were provided, including spacious bedrooms, good baths, and a great kitchen with a huge refrigerator/freezer. There were wide screen TV's in each room, though we never turned them on.Exterior amenities include hot tub, fire pits, lounge areas, and a high-end gas BBQ. Above all, the hosts Mark and Michelle, were friendly and accommodating. They love this Terlingua Ranch area and its surrounding wildlife. They go the extra mile to provide water and supplemental food for the deer and birds, turning their outback haven into a desert oasis that we, their guests, may enjoy.

We spent 3 nights and 2 days in order to hike at Big Bend. The weather was unseasonably cold and unfortunately, the pipes froze in the trailer overnight. The owners were quick to respond and provided plenty of water for drinking and flushing. By the time we returned from our hikes the pipes had been thawed. We were advised to open the faucets overnight and had no freezing the 2nd night. We aren't sure if the listing mentioned the 3 miles of dirt road getting to the trailer but it was a bit of a challenge. It is far from the park but most accommodations are, as far as we know. The kitchen was well equiped with plenty of utensils and even condiments.

Did not know the RV was underneath their carport, and about 50 feet from their front door. The porch had two shotguns or rifles too easily accessible to anyone. Owners were not home for the weekend, but apparently their employees were. They live on the same property. Rental is not as isolated as suggested. It did not feel safe so, we didn't stay.
