Hide-A-Way Hill with a beautiful view

I didn’t expect house guests and would have appreciated if the host had informed me there was an active rodent infestation before arrival. After killing two mice/rats, my wife screamed when a mouse ran across her foot. Additionally, I made the mistake of not placing my Sony earbuds in their case my first night in the property (my baseball team did win and my 1yo stayed sleeping so I still count this as a win). Beyond the rodents… The bed sags, there is no coffee, coffee filters, cooking oils, or lighter to ignite your own coals. The only pans available are destroyed non-stick goodwill rejects. If you need something, bring it yourself. On the plus side, I was guaranteed to get my first 10 flight of stairs walking my dog to the commercial fishing pond in the backyard every morning, the roof kept me dry, and the A/C worked. If still interested in booking for some reason (yes it might be the cheapest in theory), don’t book through Expedia: the pet filter only ensures you receive a $40 security deposit charge despite leaving the property cleaner than found (no mouse poop on the counters). That $40 ensures the price is more expensive than if booked through other sites.

The house had everything I needed for my trip. I cooked meals instead of eating out and the kitchen had all the essentials. Beds were super comfortable.

A perfectly pleasant place to stay, and the access to New River can't be beat. The home was immaculately clean and furnished and decorated in a very warm and welcoming way. The kitchen had any type of implement imaginable and the shower was perfect in terms of water temperature and pressure. The living room area was very spacious with lots of seating and the wifi seemed to be more than adequate. The information about the park made a huge difference in helping us to plan our days. The larger porch offered mountain views to the west which were outstanding and made for fantastic sunrises and sunsets; the stars at night were also exceptional. It was very peaceful and quiet. It was about 15-20 minutes to get to the Fayetteville section of the park and there's an abundance of hiking and other recreational opportunities available there. The Gauley recreation area seems equally close, but we didn't go there. Overall a perfect place to stay for exploring the New River or just having a quiet place to get away. I'd gladly stay there again Overall a fantastic experience and highly recommended

If you enjoy the country and the hills of West Virginia, you’ll love this place. Theresa was very easy to get ahold of when needed and very friendly. All you need is to show up with your personal items and food and she’s pretty much got everything you need there! I would highly recommend staying here especially if you’re going to do any kind of water activity on the New or Gauley River like we did 😃

Nice location, tucked away within the mountains. Close to New River Gorge Bridge, lots of fishing and sightseeing. Owners were nice and the place clean and well kept.

We always stay here anytime we are in town. It is very peaceful and relaxing and the fishing is a big plus for me.

Perfect place to stay for a week of exploring and adventure! Hosts were friendly and responed quickly to any questions.

Beautiful location, wonderful view, great wildlife. Horses were a huge plus, will recommend to friends definitely.

Stayed from Sept13-20th and had a great time. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a great get away. I will definitely stay here again in the future.

The location was perfect for our trip to the National Park. We appreciate being able to bring our dogs and the space was comfortable for all of us. Highly recommend the Freefolk Brewery on the way home from your adventures!

Property was clean. Easy check in. Great location if you're looking to spend time in new river gorge NP and lots of other activities close by. Owners were very nice and quick to reapond to any questions. Overall great stay

Went white water rafting nearby, beautiful location.

Was a very nice, clean place. The owner was very responsive to questions. We never had any problems, but checking in/out was super easy. The setting was cool, it was remote, but just down the drive is a large fishing lake. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, and they had some extras (e.g. salt and pepper). Best for us, it was about 5-10 mins from the New River NP visitors center, and the white water rafting company. Would definitely stay here again.

Awesome place would stay again. Only negative the driveway is to steep for motorcycles. We had to park at bottom of driveway but wasn’t bad.

Enjoyed out stay. Clean, close to area hiking. There is a steep hill to get to the house, but not a problem with just our front wheel drive car.

My husband and I stayed here to have a small getaway and loved it! It was a bit difficult to find at first but otherwise the view was beautiful and we had a wonderful time!

Enjoyed our trip in this rural setting. Wanted to see the new river Gorge bridge and surrounding area. Neighborhood very quiet and peaceful. Dog able to run in the yard. Saw multiple deer. (Don’t follow GPS, as you will end up in neighbors old school bus on a lane next to the property driveway! )😳. Enjoyed our stay!!
