Dog-friendly home with expansive deck and mountain/lake/forest views! Your lake house, log cabin, and mountain lodge fantasies are all fulfilled in this storybook lodge. Horseshoe Lake Lodge is situated on two lakes, and the large private property boasts 11 pristine acres in the Flathead Valley.

The space
Horseshoe Lake Lodge is a beautiful, rare, cypress-log home situated on both your own private Lariat Lake (on the property) and the lovely, unspoiled Horseshoe Lake, which has only one other house on its shores, and offering views out to the spectacular Swan Mountains beyond.

Horseshoe Lake Lodge’s 11 acres are nestled serenely between acres of Fish and Game forest and Horseshoe Lake on one side, and a vast forested estate on the other. There are no neighbors to disturb you, other than the families of deer who appear morning and evening outside your windows, or the array of birds who nest around Lariat Lake. The two lakes, lawns, a firepit, secluded seating areas, and forest trails await on the property itself. It's utterly remote and private, with plenty of room for a family or group of friends to play without ever going anywhere!

And yet, the property is only 10 minutes from both Flathead and Swan Lakes, and from the historic and charming town of Bigfork. You'll be just four miles from Swan River, 45 miles from Glacier National Park, and 48 miles from Whitefish Ski Resort.

This stunning area is spectacular in every season. In fall, the valley is resplendent with fall colors and alive with outdoor activity, including the best fishing, hunting, and hiking. Then, it is a winter wonderland—Bigfork is Montana’s Christmas village, the mountains are breathtaking, and everyone is snowshoeing, ice-skating, snowboarding, ice fishing, sledding, and skiing, including at the world-class Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort. Spring finds everyone out on and around the vast array of waterways, boating, camping, biking, and hiking. Summer is glorious. There is unmatched, jaw-dropping beauty everywhere you look, at the height of its accessibility.

The log home itself is unusually lovely, a light and airy three floors of warm, honey-colored cypress, cedar, and hickory wood on the ceiling, walls, floors, and cabinets. The main house is 2,700 square feet, offering a breathtaking living and dining room with walls of lake-view windows under a 27-foot cathedral ceiling; three spacious en suite bedrooms with three attached baths; and an expansive walk-out basement with a family room area and another sleeping area with a beautiful queen bunk bed, a full laundry room, and a pretty patio overlooking Lariat Lake. Everything is tastefully furnished with warm and bright log cabin and lake lodge décor. The home’s inviting, wide, covered front porch and wrap-around back deck overlooking the lakes are perhaps the most inspiring spaces of all, amidst the ravishing natural beauty of our area and serenity of this unique property.

The home was as pictured/described, well stocked for cooking all our meals, and very spacious. Unfortunately, it rained most of our trip, but the home was a cozy space, and we enjoyed the nice campfire area. Appreciated being dog friendly. Enjoyed the local deer visiting. Horseshoe Lake wasn't great for fishing, but nearby Loon Lake was great, and we also fly fished the Swan River access site which was very close.

We had a group of seven. We choose this house because of the privacy that it appeared to have, and it was very private, and beautiful! We had a week long trip to the area, mostly planning on hiking and exploring GNP. We hiked many trails in GNP, and getting to the trailheads was typically a pretty long drive, 1-3 hours each way, depending on where we went. We expected an hour drive each way, so we weren't too surprised, but we spent a lot of time in a car. That did not take away from the cabin! It was beautiful, and worth the drive! Big Fork was easy to get to, and we spent a couple of days in an around town, and hiking local trails around Flathead lake. WiFi worked great, we didn't turn a TV on for the week, several meals, and much time was spent outside on the deck, enjoying the view at all times of day and night. We typically cooked meals for ourselves, and the pantry was stocked with many basics, spices, etc. Overall,Great trip!

My family and I stayed here for vacation. It was great for all three generations of our family. Nice location for a Glacier NP day trip, Flathead Lake, etc. The home was well stocked with the essentials, beautiful, and clean. The cleaning fee was outrageous (400), but we weren’t instructed to do any specific tidying before check out. We especially appreciated early check in since we travelled from out of town. I don’t think we could have found a better rental for our trip. Thanks!

As a family we decided we would like to stay in the Bigfork area. The rental cabin was in a quiet location but still close to restaurants, great hikes, fishing and much more. It worked out perfect!

This is a beautiful timber framed home that is in a very private setting near Big Fork. The beds were very comfortable and I bet the fireplaces are amazing in the winter. Things to know, not bad things, but to be aware of…the tv is not on the main floor, Internet is really no Internet and there is only one bar of cell coverage….something to be aware of if, like me, you need such services for work.Or an ailing parent to keep up on. They tell me they are looking into Starlink which would be a cherry on this absolutely beautiful VRBO sundae

My family enjoyed our visit to Bigfork, and the cabin was the perfect place to stay. Beautiful setting in the woods and upon arrival we were greeted by the beautiful deer off the back deck.

What an incredible cabin and property! First, it is located on an absolutely beautiful property with two lakes/ponds. We fished nonstop and definitely enjoyed the quiet and nature. The cabin itself is stocked with everything you could need. The icing on the cake (at least this week with temps in the 90's) was the AC - lifesaver. Thanks for an awesome week!
