Very nice complex, beautiful view, spacious rooms.

Beautiful place with lots of space. Really well stocked with little extras like shampoo and extra towels. Hot tub was awesome! Surrounding area had lots to do. My family loved it!

The Fish Tale House in Elizabeth, Illinois is spectacular, with beautiful views and great space for both dining and sitting around enjoying the company. We were on a girls trip and we call ourselves The Ten, as all 10 of us have been friends since high school and some before that as well. Check-in was super easy with the caretaker Joe. The kitchen was spacious, clean and had everything we needed for the meals we prepared. We would definitely go back again!

Great family house. We had eleven of us.

There celebrating my 50th birthday. The house was fantastic and the hot tub was a huge hit. Location was great, just 20 minutes from Galena.The views were outstanding also.

Property worked well for our church youth ski trip.

Property was so comfortable with incredible views. We enjoyed the views from the dining room, the deck and the hot tub! The weather was good enough to even enjoy some cowboy golf. We were also able to some hiking and see the animals. Can't say enough about the ranch/hand peoperty manager who was so helpful with all our questions.James and Amy

We had a large family getaway here in October & had a great time. The house could probably use some updating but it served our purposes perfectly. It was warm and cozy. The tenants right before us did some damage so things were still getting repaired as we arrived but I think everything was addressed. The best part of the stay though was the land with all the animals And Joe, the ranch hand. He was amazing. Anything that came up, he handled. He asked about our plans and gave us some tips and tricks to avoid traffic. All around really nice guy and was such a great guide for the property and surrounding area. Thanks, Joe!

The Octagon house was great! Plenty of space for us to spread out and great views. They were very accommodating and quick to answer questions. Great stay!

r we arrived, we noticed a dead mouse

I received check in information a few days before arrival.. I thought it was odd that all the the houses on this property do not have locks and stay unlocked at all times.. which left me uneasy.. Upon arrival at the octagon house we were confronted with a home that was not clean, stocked or ready for us yet.. I immediately reached out to Mark on Vrbo.. he contacted me directly on my cell… I was told I was at the wrong house.. I checked my Vrbo account and I assured him I was at the right rental.. he double checked and said he stood corrected and would be right over.. once mark arrived he made it seem like it was my fault he hadn’t heard from me before I arrived.. and that Vrbo was not advertising his rental properly.. he was concerned we would not have enough room for our party.. so he started showing us around the other houses on the property.. he offered for us to stay at any of the rentals so we were comfortable.. he offered us some bed sheets.. we had to make our own beds.. some beds had no sheets that night.. he offered us toiletries which we had brought with us fortunately.. so we kindly thanked him.. The next morning while my husband was making breakfast Mark Walked into the home without notice.. and asked my husband to have all guests on the other rental out of the house for the day because he was having work done on his basement.. our guests in that house had to pack up their belongings and take them to the main house.. we went to town for the day.. when we arrived

We rented this for a long weekend because of the number of bedrooms. The owner tried to change our reservation to a smaller house and became very rude when we insisted on the original reservation. The house itself was lovely and we enjoyed the weekend, however there was no information provided at the house. Usually there is a binder of information and local attractions, but there was nothing. We had to hunt to even find the keys. The listing is misleading.

Plenty of room for everyone, amazing views, friendly property managers. Consider yourself lucky if this is an option for one of your stays.

Good family time of relaxing, catching up with each other, and playing games, and checking out Galena, Elizabeth and doing the alpine slide and Soaring Eagle. Enjoyed the country setting.
