This luxurious tranquil lodge is situated in a beautiful rural area of County Clare, on an elevated site surrounded by nature, living, blooming, scented and colourful.
It is only 10 minutes from Ennis, 20 minutes from Lahinch with beach and golf and close to the unspoilt countryside of the Burren and its hinterlands which can provide many days of pleasure exploring its hidden landscape.
Lickaun Lodge was built in 2001 by skilled and artistic tradesmen, using natural stone and a beautiful variety of woods;- elm, cedar, and larch which were sourced from historic woods. These were selected, dried and carved into beams and decorative furniture.

Limosene or Chauffeur driven transportation service available on request, ask for more details.

KITCHEN:
The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with a large Range-Master gas/electric cooker; it sits in the heart of the kitchen with a beautiful marble backdrop inscribed with Fáilte (Welcome). The ceiling has oak beams, home to a collection of antique jugs. The dresser houses a selection of fine china, linen and silver cutlery for your entertaining needs. The welcoming entrance porch, adjacent to the kitchen, provides storage for everyday equipment and is decorated with lovely pictures and mirrors themed around domestic birds. Water is sourced from a natural spring well for your good health.

SUN ROOM:
The spacious sun-room has a gothic theme with high ceilings, larch beams with wrought iron. The once-off dining table and tall chairs were designed and carefully crafted by a cabinet maker using burned elm wood. This is a very relaxing room in which to sit and watch the swallows in summer or the doves hover over the lake. In the morning, rabbits and hares wander close to the house;- undisturbed nature at your window cill.

LOUNGE:
The elegant, cosy lounge is decorated with Victorian-style furniture, ‘his and her’ chairs, wing backs and chaise lounge. The limestone fireplace with its large wood-burning stove is certainly a pleasure to sit beside on a winter’s evening just listening to the antique wall clock ticking. The front entrance porch off the lounge provides spectacular views of the lake and mountain.

BEDROOM1:
The pitch-pine stairs leading from this room brings you to the master-bedroom with its large antique- inlaid bed and a beautiful large deep bath provides relaxation in the tastefully decorated bathroom.

BEDROOM 2:
The twin-bedded room on this floor is airy and comfortable with beautiful views of garden and countryside.

BEDROOM 3:
The single downstairs en suite bedroom is a cosy retreat freshly decorated with toilet de Joui fabric. This theme follows through to the large en suite bathroom.

GARDEN
The extensive garden has many facets, lavender-scented beds, rock roses, mature trees, scree beds, vegetable plots, fruit trees and a variety of berries for winter preserves.

The three cut-stone patios provide seating for different times of the day, here you can sip your wine/morning coffee in privacy, watch the horse’s graze, cattle resting or hares and foxes in the early morning dew, the natural music of the song-birds and the domestic birds as they roam the garden freely.

Our stay could not have been more idyllic. The home is clean, cozy and has the best linens! We were able to have a warm fire every night and wake up every morning to an incredible view of the garden and hills across the way. Our host Tina was soo welcoming and kind, she made us feel like family. She provided us pastries and all kitchen necessities for our stay! We loved visiting with the horses on the property- which our 4year old daughter has not stopped talking about. We had a really hard time leaving- our stay was definitely not long enough! Thank you Tina for such a perfect memory of our first stay in Ireland!

Couldn’t say enough amazing things about Tina. It was an absolute pleasure to meet her. Her home is meticulously clean, charming and comfortable. She goes above and beyond as a host. My daughter loved the horses outside and we enjoyed eggs from her chicken coop. Meeting Tina and staying at her home was a highlight of our trip.

Most amazing property. Hostess Tina made our father daughters getaway to country a lifetime memory. Views are stunning and the property gardens are award worthy. The girls loved the horses and the goslings and chicks. Tina made sure we had every convenience and the house was well provisioned from the time we arrived .Close enough for lots of day trips to places like Cliffs of Moher and Galway, Ennis, but we spent most of our time just enjoying our time at this truly lovely property. Thanks Tina!

We were looking for the greenest, most flowery, Irish home with a view. We approached the property and it was like a fairytale complete with beautiful horses. I am not even a horse person but was amazed at their grace and beauty.

If I could give a rating of 6 stars I would. Everything from the cottage to the host was exceptional. Nothing was too much for Tina. What a wonderful, welcoming lady. Would definitely recommend.

Stroll Tina's glorious gardens (my mother-in-law a avid gardener was in heave), morning coffee with Tina's three beautiful horses - Jack Barry had a way of calming me each morning, enjoy living in the lovely farmhouse (perfect for a family of five, two couples) but mostly you will be stunned by the world's greatest host, Tina. Fresh bread and hot apple crumble, stories, laughter -- Tina seemed to anticipate my family's every need! So kind, so funny, Tina is family now for us. She made my 87 year old father in law and 86 year old mother in law's holiday in the land of their ancestors so very special. The most special VRBO experience we've ever had. Love you, Tina!

When your kids run off to see the horses, play with the dogs, and pet the kids the house begins to feel very quiet! Food kept appearing and Tina knew just where to look for great views.

My husband and I and our three adult kids, ages 24-27, stayed at Tina’s Lodge for a week. How could there be so many outstanding reviews? It seemed too good to be true, but they were all true! What a magical place — even more beautiful than described. Tina was an amazing host. She went above and beyond what was expected. Her place is immaculate - food in the fridge waiting for you, fresh towels every day, and the homemade breads were out of this world. After a long day of sightseeing, we came home to a plate of amazing blueberry scones. Her hospitality is exceptional - she is warm, friendly, and respectful of her guests. Our only regret was that we didn’t leave enough time to have a proper visit with Tina, herself. Please take the time to sit and have a cup of tea with her - I wish we had one more day to do that. We didn’t want to deal with driving, so we hired a driver—Ian of Órga Car Hire. Ian and PJ took very good care of us - We got to sit back and enjoy the scenery. It was one of our best decisions. Ennis was one of our favorite places on the entire trip! It’s an authentic Irish town. The people are very friendly, but what stood out to us was that they were even kind to each other. Something we don’t see as much of these days in the States. It was good for our souls. Thanks to Tina, Lickaun Lodge, Ian, and PJ, our family trip to Ireland will be a vacation we’ll treasure forever.
