Black Bear Hideaway: A bear-themed pet-friendly 5 bedroom lodge in Hocking Hills

The house was great for our family. We spent Easter weekend here and were able to make big meals. There was plenty of room and my toddler nephew loved all the stuffed bears.

We had a great time at Black Bear Hideaway. The property was beautiful and well stocked, but could have been cleaned a little more thoroughly. Underneath the furniture in the living room was full of crumbs and dust. There were no batteries in the remotes, so we had to purchase batteries to watch TV. We had plenty of towels, the hot tub worked great, and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils. The water in the showers didn't seem to get very hot, and the shower heads were older and sprayed all over. The dumpster on the property was full the whole week, but I contacted the host and they let us know it was ok to just use the trash bin on the porch if the dumpster didn't get emptied. They were prompt to get back with me on my inquiries. We had wonderful weather during our stay, and the home was large enough to accomodate our large group.

The cabin is beautiful, clean, spacious and plenty to do. Will book it again!!

Enjoyed the space for everyone to do what they wanted even though we mainly were in the kitchen/living room area the most.

Everything was wonderful , very clean, very well stocked kitchen, lovely decorations. Just a great all around experience. We have been celebrating family Christmas in Hocking Hills for over 20 years and this rated among our top stays. Awesome.

Amazing place to stay! Attention to detail is the name of the game with this cabin! We cerebrated our family Christmas here and everything was just perfect! The cabin was decorated perfectly for Christmas, all Santa had to do was drop off the presents. We had everything we needed in the wonderfully stocked kitchen to prepare a full holiday meal. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you!

Our stay at this property was fabulous. The decor was beautiful. We enjoyed the hot tub, the firepit, and the ping pong table immensely. Our family is spread out around the country, so to get together was worth everything to us and this property provided the perfect setting.

The accommodations were as described on the VRBO site. We enjoyed our stay, and will stay here again as opportunity arises.

Wonderful space! Plenty of room for everyone in our 12 person family to enjoy spending time together or find their own space. Host was quickly responsive to our requests. We enjoyed many of the nearby hikes and also zip line at Hocking Hills Canopy Zip lines. Would definitely stay again!

We had a great family mini-vacation and loved the cabin. We enjoyed the hot tub and did some hiking. Our stay was very enjoyable.

Great house that was close to the lake and trails for family fun. House was clean and the owners were available when needed. Unfortunately we had a tree fall on our van during a bad storm. The owners and maintenance were easy to get a hold of and able to get everything all cleaned up for us to still enjoy our stay. Thank you! Our family had lots of fun.

Our family had such a relaxing stay at Black Bear Hideaway! We were impressed with the overall cleanliness& also how well stocked it was with the various supplies (trash bags, hand soap, dishwasher pods etc.). The only thing we noticed was somewhat of a lack of silverware (mostly small spoons) but it wasn’t really an inconvenience& we made do. The porches were perfect for relaxing& visiting& we all enjoyed the swings& rocker gliders. Thank you for making our getaway such a pleasant one!

The cabin was very clean and spacious. There was enough room for our family to speead out with plenty of activities to do! Simple check in and check out process. The amenities were plentiful. We came to celebrate father's day weekend and we will definitely come back again.

Great weekend getaway for 3 families. The room layout upstairs was perfect for all the kids.

Our family could not have had a better time at Black Bear Hideaway. The kids ages 5-8 absolutely loved air hockey and foosball and coming home to relax in the hot tub after hiking. The house is close to all the trails. We also loved watching the deer in the woods behind the property. The house was clean and had everything we needed! I had one question regarding check out procedures and I got a quick response from the host. Thank you for sharing your home!

We loved the cozy cabin! The open concept allowed to us to all spend time together, from grandma baking cookies in the kitchen to the toddler running around in the living. Everything was incredibly comfortable and perfectly suited to our needs.

Excellent facility and close to hot spots to hike in Hocking Hills. Abundant beds and bathrooms and well stocked kitchen. We could have invited some of our 3 grandkids friends.
