Be part of history and see for yourself what it was like to live in an actual railroad caboose. They are perfect for family trips, romantic getaways and mini breaks from the big city's everyday life.
While Olympic Railway Inn feels just the right amount of secluded, you are still only 2 miles away from local grocery stores and shopping. Jardin du Soleil Lavender Farm is only 5 miles out and is next to Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge, that is home to over 250 species of endangered birds, fish and mammals. Dungeness Spit is one of the longest natural spits in the world. In addition to its own natural beauty, it is a great spot for bird watching. While you are staying at the Inn, be sure to check out Olympic Discovery Trail that is located just steps away from cabooses. The route spans around 135 miles between Port Townsend and La Push on the Pacific Coast. As of 2021, 90 miles of the trail have been developed into a complete path. Besides the rail cars, your kids will have a blast exploring the Olympic Game Farm, a drive-through wildlife exhibit, where animals come right up to your vehicle! The Inn is equidistant from the Victorian Seaport of Port Townsend to the East and Port Angeles, gateway to the Olympic National Park and Pacific Coast beaches, to the West. Take a short ferry ride from Port Angeles and visit a foreign country- Canada, there’s so much to see and do!
After a great day of exploring, return to the most unique lodging on the peninsula, private cabooses at Olympic Railway Inn, complete with tubs to soothe your aches from all the day's adventures. Very fun little place to stay! Will definitely be back!
A very unique experience
We loved the steampunk decor, literally in a converted train car. It was only for the two of us but it surprisingly didn't feel small, even with no kitchen. It was perfect for our weekend getaway. Thank you.
My husband loves trains so he was really excited to stay in the remodeled caboose. Loved the neat decor, the little extras like the chocolate and movies. The only thing missing was cups for tea/coffee or water. Other than that is was a fun and neat place to stay!
Comfy bed, adorable setting and placement of the train cars. Will definitely stay here again!!
We live close, but wanted a night away. This charming little caboose was super cute and just right for us! We love the idea of changing them into rentals, and the little property was so quaint. Would stay here again!
Looking to stay in a train- here’s the spot to do it! Just as advertised. Management was easy to work with as well.
