Impeccable Penthouse - Ocean & Diamondhead Views

The rooms have a coffee maker & microwave, but as luck would have it- nowhere (electrical outlets) to plug them in. You need a PhD in Electrical Engineering to figure out how to use the TV for basic programming. Also, need an advanced degree to figure out how to get the shower to turn on. Had to hold my head under the tub faucet to take a lousy shower. Totally ridiculous. Manager Jan is a nosy busybody who is rather annoying, to put it bluntly.

Immaculate efficiency at the beautiful far end of Waikiki, stunning views of Diamond Head, Kapiolani Park, and the ocean, far from the crowds and noise of central Waikiki. The condo does not face the ocean directly -- it's a few units back -- but you can view the ocean from both sides. Keurig coffee, blender, toaster, microwave, fryer, fridge, laundry soap, everything I needed. The queen bed is comfortably firm, just right. Beach chairs, umbrella, snorkel sets, boogie boards, and cooler were available to borrow in the storage unit. I had morning coffee in the courtyard facing the ocean, and took the stairs down the seawall to swim -- sand and reef accessible a few yards from the building. It's a short walk to Kamaaina Beach. I parked for free the entire time -- from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m. right across the street at metered spots on Kalakaua Avenue, and at other times on Paki Avenue, a short walk across the park. Host Jan is delightful -- personable, responsive, and helpful.

This is an excellent property and we enjoyed it very much (two people). The views from all sides are amazing. The ability to open windows for cross ventilation truly adds to the experience.

Jan is an amazing host and made our stay so seamless! Communication was easy and she was just a text away if we had a question. She also gave us several suggestions for restaurants while we were there as well as having detailed instructions and items on hand in the penthouse for us to use during our stay. The view from the penthouse is amazing and the penthouse is in the perfect location. You can see Diamond Head from one view and the ocean from the other. We walked to Waikīkī daily, but were out of the hustle and bustle of it all during our stay, which made it even better. The patio was the perfect spot to unwind during the day or at the end of a long productive day. Love the beach access from the steps along the rock wall as well. Just perfect. Would most certainly stay here again!!

This property is as advertised.....the location is perfectly positioned for convenience to dining and shopping as well being a quiet area away from the business of Waikiki. Excellent for those guest that want a morning run. Also, no need to rent a vehicle public transportation is steps away. Jan is a wonderful host with lots of insight of the area. We loved our stay.

Host was very responsive and provided a list of things to do while on the island, as well as beach equipment. We love the location. Walking distance to Waikiki and far enough away from the crowds to feel private. Great view of Diamond Head and the ocean from the front balcony.

Jan was very welcoming she made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed.

This is a little gem. It is little so be aware, but has everything you need except a lot of space! Bathroom/Kitchen shares a sink. Location is at the quiet end of Waikiki. Views are great. And wall mirror reflects ocean graciously. Host is great. Very easy. Well stocked and plenty of beach stuff. Large comfortable bed. Great trade winds. No balcony per se but nice common area to sit outside at sunset. Would definitely stay again!

We loved the location. Close enough to walk into town but far enough away to not be IN the action. Communication was terrific and all went really smoothly.

Everything was just fine for a short stay in this small but perfectly equipped penthouse. Very quiet, incredible view, high quality of furniture, super Keurig coffeemaker and very well supplied cupboards and pharmacy. Handy laundry machines in the basement. The owner was very kind, perfect communication. Location is just far enough from Waikiki downtown to enjoy a peaceful environment. Overall a great experience!

Incredible views of the ocean, park, Diamond Head, and the city. I spent many a morning and evening staring out of the window. LOVED opening the windows and feeling the wind. It was beautiful. Property has a direct path to the ocean but is also very close to Sandy beaches. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance, but uber/lyft was also very affordable. Jan was incredibly kind and very communicative. We loved staying here. Thank you!

There was one there to check you in or even tell you how to access the room. Fortunately, someone was leaving and he opened the gate. I had a combination to get in the room, and I found a key fob in the room that I could access the property with. I had to park a long-distance away from the property. It said there was parking for 30 a night. The room was nice, and the views were awesome. I will not stay at VRBO in the future as there always seem to be difficulties. The property is also a mile from the nearest stores and restaurants

This little Penthouse at the foot of Diamond is a little gem! I used to live on Oahu and I can tell you that the location is perfect! Quiet with incredible views and just a five minute walk into all the action Waikiki has to offer. With a view on both side of the penthouse you get practically 360 degree beautiful views of all of Waikiki and Honolulu. I could lay in bed and have my coffee while watching the sunrise over Diamond Head to my right and look over to my left and see Waikiki and the Wainai coast! The suite was very clean and had all the necessities one could need for a vacation stay in Hawaii. The one thing that stood out the moist was Jan, the owner. She truly was a Super Host!

Older building, studio was small but well appointed. Views were good, but no private outside space. No access to beach without walking out on the street. Found 2 restaurants within 1/2 mile. One in a fairly pricey hotel. The other was basically a fast food restaurant. If you think you will walk to all waikiki has to offer, think again. My wife and I walk a mile and a half per day, up and down hills. In the heat and humidity, we rarely walked more than 1/2 mile. You need a car. As far as the owner, great communication, but when we decided to leave after the first night, due to the isolation of the property, we inquired about a partial refund. We had rented for 10 nights. All we were hoping was that a token refund would be issued for the very limited use of the property, so little to no wear and tear, and virtually no use of the utilities. The owner would not issue any refund. I realize I had no legal standing to expect a refund, but a few hundred dollars refunded would have been a nice gesture. So, we are unhappy that we concentrated on the owner's beautiful pictures of the view from the studio, and did not research more thoroughly. No pool, limited outside space to relax and hang out, few restaurants/bars within walking distance, access to the beach and ocean are along a fairly busy street, and a studio apartment that is about the size of a hotel room, i.e. the kitchen contains a microwave, and a coffee maker. We were expecting more.

A real gem with all the comforts of home. It has spectacular views, hot water showers, and a comfortable bed with soft linens and fluffy pillows. Outside is a beautiful fountain with Diamond Head looking right down on you. We ate at some of the nicest restaurants within blocks. We walked down to the downtown Waikiki area for dining, sun, and beaches. Take a Lyft, quick, polite, and friendly. Jan is always there, give her a text. She is kind and thoughtful just what makes a visit wonderful!

We loved staying at this beautiful property. Jan is a fantastic communicator. Everything was as discribed. Room was clean, and came equipped with everything you need for a stay on Oahu. Views were fantastic. Great location, easy access to many great beaches, activities, and shopping. Would definitely stay here again.

Jan’s property was great! There is an awesome view out each of the windows. It is small, but has everything you need or want. Jan was so helpful and super responsive. She texted me to make sure we had everything we needed and provided great info on what was going on in town. We definitely recommend this property!

We were very pleased with our stay. There was a flood upstair from us but it was dealt with and Jan was great at communicating. We absolutely loved the the location as it was a great way to get away from the crowded strip of Waikiki proper. It was a perfect 1 mile walk which we enjoyed doing in the morning for coffee and breakfast. The small neighborhood near us was adorable and unlike anything we saw while driving around. We had a car for 4 days (which I highly recommend if you want to explore the whole island) and did not have a problem finding parking out front. Jan had everything we needed in storage to snorkel and chairs plus umbrella for the beach.

The condo unit was accurately described and very clean. Jan provided everything needed for a 10 day stay. She pays attention to detail! The property is also safe with easy access to the main area of Waikiki. Easy access to many places using Uber. There are good restaurants within walking distance and a large park across the street. Beautiful views out each side of the room. I can recommend this property.

The hostess was awesome! There was a bad storm and she texted us what to do if there a tsunami warning.

This was our THIRD stay at Jan’s penthouse, and we love it there. For us, it’s all about the awesome views and quiet location. Our favorites are waking up to the sunrises that can be seen easily from the room, and ending the day in the lovely lawn enjoying the sunsets. Jan is a wonderful host providing so many extra perks like giving us plenty of coffee and bottled water for our two week stay. Having Tide available for doing laundry was truly appreciated as well. Jan will take good care of you so don’t hesitate to stay, you will love it here! !

Cozy and clean, can’t beat the view and location. Jan was a great communicator and her listing is accurate. We’ve stayed in various Waikiki locations and this was ideal for us. If you plan to rent a parking space, a mid-size SUV is the largest you should get.
