Affordable and Convenient - the Mountainside Inn is walking distance to historic downtown Telluride and just 200 yards from the Coonskin Ski Lift (#7).

Bedding: Two twins (can be made into a king)

*Please note: Parking in the town of Telluride is a growing issue. Mountainside Inn parking spaces are limited, and permit availability is first come, first served. We strongly encourage you to consider one of the many local shuttle options in favor of driving. Should you choose to drive, and use one of the Mountainside Inn Parking Permits, there is a $20 per night parking fee. If there is no Mountainside Inn parking available, you may need to park overnight in one of the local paid parking garages.*

The Mountainside Inn is located along the San Miguel River in the heart of Telluride. It is comprised of four separate buildings, all of which are two floors with stair access (no elevators). Rooms may face the river, mountainside, parking lot or a neighboring building.

This hotel room has two twins (extra-long) that can be made into a king bed. The room has a flat-screen TV with satellite, wifi, mini-fridge, small microwave, fan and humidifier. The private bathroom has a shower (no tub) and hairdryer.

Complimentary wifi is included. A well-stocked vending machine and coin-operated laundry are located on the property. There is no A/C at the Mountainside Inn.

The Mountainside Inn is just two blocks from the grocery store, and about a 10-minute walk from historic downtown Telluride. The river trail offers a delightful path through town, and the free in-town shuttle picks up about a 1/2-block from the Inn.

Please be aware that your room number may differ than the one on your reservation confirmation. The Mountainside Inn reserves the right to move reservations to a comparable room without notifying the guest.

This room is dog-friendly with prior notification and a $30/night fee. Pet fees will be charged at check-in. Two dog limit.

The staff was helpful. The pillows were really hard and small. Not as shown in the picture. No ice bucket. No hair conditioner, just shampoo.

Everything was good and as expected. Only two downsides: The room was hot and I couldn't leave windows open wide with shades flapping in the wind. And I got the last parking sport in the axillary lot moments before the guy behind me. Don't know what I would have done if I was 1 minute later.

It was exactly what I expected. The room was small but nice. Communication with the staff was great. They were very helpful. Check in was very easy. Price was right for location and room type.

Nice property. Difficult to find. Not enough close by parking. If you get a parking space and don't plan to leave town, park the car and walk. Telluride is walkable. Well priced for the area.

My husband and I recently stayed overnight and mostly had a good stay; however, we likely won't return in the future. For context, we are full-time travelers and have a good sense of quality for value, having stayed all over the world. Here are our reflections to help you decide if this is worth your stay: PROS: very friendly and welcoming staff; the lobby has coffee, tea, and ice water; location is a relatively close walk to downtown & gondola; nicely cleaned and fresh-smelling; comfy bed/bedding; a really good sized bathroom; having overflow parking nearby is so helpful (since the on-site lot is tiny); an ice machine and one washer/dryer. CONS: overpriced for this dated building and ultimate value; parking is cumbersome (but available, so yay!); check-in (4p) / check-out (10a) is off by most other hotels by 2 hours (usually always 2 or 3p check-in / 11a or 12p check-out); the front desk doesn't open until 9a - so no coffee until then (sorry early birds) and you just leave keys in the room if checking out prior; no A/C - super toasty in the day, evening cooled down (thanks for providing a small fan to make more comfortable); given there is no a/c, your windows are always open and it was quite noisy (at least our second-floor, corner unit was); no elevator and no luggage carts - when the parking lot is full (including the two loading / unloading spots) and you have to park in the adjacent lot and carry tons of items up to the second floor, trust me - it's not fun. If you are passing through, on a budget and don't mind the above cons, it's an option. But check your other options as well. Safe travels!
