Stayed Jul 25, 2024The price and availability should have been a warning. The surrounding area is great. Plenty to do in Deadwood, lots of trails (we brought and rode ATVs), however the actual property is home to full-time residents living in motel style rooms. There were signs posted asking residents not to use drugs and smoke in public areas, and there were people just hanging out on the porches and steps watching our every move. Our first night, the AC didn't work at all (and it was hot!). There was no one at the front desk (ever), but there were people at the adjacent rental shop, so they moved us to another room. We didn't get much sleep that first night, and they planned to charge us full price, but after some dispute, they waived the fee. Overall, it was an okay stay - not great, not awful, just okay.
