Can we bring our pet
Unfortunately we have many guests with pet allergies and pet hair/dander is a constant issue. We are not accepting pets at this time.
What do we need to bring
We supply toilet paper, hand soap, paper towel, dish soap, sponges, linens/blankets/pillows for beds (beds are made for guests) as well as towels, washcloths, kitchen towels, mini shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, etc.. We suggest bringing anything you feel you may need in addition and reviewing our amenities and supply list in it's entirety prior to traveling to your rental.

The activities in our area are nearly entirely outdoor recreation activities. We are surrounded by lakes and rivers as well. Kayak or canoe on the Big Manistee, the Little Manistee or the Pine River. Watch the salmon run in the fall in small creeks or fish one of our many small lakes. We are also located only about a half hour from Lake Michigan and it's beautiful beaches. Shopping is available in Manistee, Ludington, and Traverse City. Our area also has many ATV and Snowmobile trails and trail maps are available online and in the welcome book at our cabins. This cabin is located approx 20-35 minutes from Crystal Mountain and Caberfae Peaks for skiing and snowboarding. Perfect location for what we needed! We loved having outdoor space to relax; cabin was small but efficient! Already made reservations for next year!!
Cute unit but SO SMALL. Knees touch wall if on toilet shower too small for a man, middle of nowhere, small frig won't freeze ice, hard mattress, no bar shower soap, no light where frig and microwave was, Dishnet buffing couldn't watch anything, TV tiny, and no ironing board. **Excellent housekeeper Sandy.
I left my ring there and they were very helpful in getting it back to me. Great service and communication!
Very rustic! Liked the amenities. One small snafu with a popped circuit breaker but quick response from host .
Nice room the only complaint I have is that it could use a nicer mattress
Great Property, with easy access, clean room, and excellent amenities. Very affordable as well!
very clean and excellent location for what we had planned for our trip
We have stayed before and really enjoy the xtra touches. They thought of everything and made amazing use of the space they have!
We really liked the property. It was perfect for me and my sons weekend away. Excellent place, clean, had everything we needed. Great communication.
This is our second stay here! So clean and convenient!!! Thank you! ?
Absolutely beautiful cabin feel hotel! We enjoyed our stay! Very clean! Comfortable beds! Easy to get to! Right off the highway but we didn't hear any highway noise! 15 minutes from Manistee! We will definitely be back!
This was a perfect spot for a nights stay. Clean and cozy.
Had all we needed
We love Black Bear! Always our go to! Has everything we need, is always clean and Alyssa always communicates promptly! We love it here!
Every went well. Bathroom was a little small but over all a good experience. The only thing i would have liked was a on/off swith for the flood light near the fire pit so you can enjoy the fire at night with out the extra light.
Great fishing trip with my son. No issues.
Super cute room, comfy beds, clean, with all of the extras we didn't know we needed! Loved the thoughtfulness that has been put into this place! It was a nice surprise to see snacks waiting for us, we enjoyed a bag of microwave popcorn with our movie.
Absolutely thrilled! Very comfortable, clean and well stocked with anything you need....I was truly impressed with this motel....I had been paying $23.00 a night just down the road....I am up to the area frequently to see my cousin......this will be my go to place whenever I am up in the future! Thankful to have found this gem
Nice clean property
Mixing valve on shower did not work could not maintain hot water in shower had to take cold showers
Definitely a beautiful place to stay especially for an overnight trip. Very clean and adorable!
I would stay again at the Black Bear Inn in a heart beat! Alice was fabulous to work with. Check in was a breeze!!
Super easy to find and easy check-in. Alicia was quick to reply to any questions. Room was very clean and just as listed. Nice little snacks left for us which was great. Used some charcoal that was there and grilled out one night. The shampoo smelled fabulous!! Other reviews mentioned the road noise, we did notice it but it really wasn’t that big of a deal for us. Really liked the informational packet with all the trails/camping info in the room, it was helpful. The Kozy Cafe down the road had a good breakfast and was not shy about the portions. This was a well needed break for for us and we really enjoyed our stay, we will not hesitate to stay again, maybe bring our kids next time!
This was our second time staying at The Black Bear Den. We will be back next year, maybe even this fall. They offer several outdoor games to play. Definitely recommend it to anyone. The Bear Den is the best room.
