Take a hike along the Huckleberry Loop for a glimpse of elk, beavers and possibly bear. In the summer, the lake offers fishing, boating, jet skiing-the usual summer thrills.



If you really want to get away, you can travel over to Hells Canyon for backcountry backpacking. Come winter, head just eight miles away to Idaho's best-kept secret-Brundage Mountain. Over 150 inches of powder fall on this ski area, enough to tickle every bone in a skier's body.


Stephen Lyons, writing about McCall at sunset, says: No postcard, no poem, no million-dollar advertising campaign can convey this quality of light and shadow and dusky color. He's right. McCall is a truly gorgeous setting for everything from a romantic weekend to a mountain biking adventure.

Popular Attractions
Ponderosa State Park
Hike among 150-foot ponderosa pines or catch a glimpse at some of Idaho's native critters-deer, red fox, muskrats and bear. Enjoy a swim at Payette Lake located at the north end of the park. 2 mi. northeast of McCall city center.


Little Ski Hill
One of the oldest and best-groomed ski areas in Idaho, the Little Ski Hill features 405 vertical feet of alpine terrain perfect for skiing or snowboarding. The ski area also offers more than 50 km (approx. 31 miles) of groomed skating lanes and touring trails. Approx. 2 mi. outside of McCall.


Brundage Mountain
Hit the slopes via snowboard or skis in winter. Or go river rafting and mountain biking in the summer. Enjoy a scenic chairlift ride in the summer. Approx. 8 mi.


Gold Fork Hot Springs
Located in Donnelly, Idaho. Come and enjoy a relaxing experience in alkaline, mineral-rich waters in a naturally beautiful setting. 19 miles.
