The town boasts a rich history, - including Fort Martin Scott, Pioneer Museum Complex and the Lyndon B. Johnson State and National Historical Parks - a booming shopping scene, known as Magic Mile (with over 150 shops, including antique retailers, candy shops and boutiques), an ever-growing art scene and an amazing central location to Texas's blossoming wine industry.
Stonehenge II
Originally erected for fun by two locals residents, Stonehenge II is 90% as wide as the original and 60% high. It has recently been relocated to the grounds of the Hill Country Arts Foundation along with two 13-ft. tall Easter Island heads and is well worth a visit.

We loved staying in the 3 bedroom villa! It was beautiful with a beautiful view! Highly recommend! Will definitely return….
Wonderful area and beautiful place to stay. It’s not an isolated house, it’s more like very high end condos. It’s hard to see that from the listing, but they are extremely nice. The doors, windows, everything are built very well. Spacious rooms, high ceilings. It was cleaned well inside, even the dishes were ready and very clean. That was nice. It’s good to drink wine with nice glasses that are provided and spotless. The only small issues I had were the porch out back wasn’t cleaned as well, possibly overlooked by maids, with bbq skewers and small trash on the ground and tables. Nothing major, but as spotless as it was inside… There were about 3 huge wasps I had to kill that were inside somehow over the 3 days. I looked and couldn’t find any nests, so no idea how they were inside. And one morning there was a dead scorpion on the floor by the kitchen. No idea how it got in, or why it was already dead, but glad it was. Nothing the owner could control, really. It’s out in the middle of Texas, that’s just part of the wildlife that’s unavoidable. There is no free Wi-Fi. That was kind of a shocker. It’s just like staying at a Hilton or something, you have to pay for the Wi-Fi. It’s not crazy expensive or anything, just be aware that’s an extra cost. One of the toilets, every now and then, kept running and I called maintenance and they came quickly to check it out. It stopped with the typical jiggling of the handle, so they didn’t replace the insides on the spot, but wasn’t immediately necessary anyway. Hopefully they changed them after we left. The pool area was wonderful, but the hot tub wasn’t working. Not sure if it was closed for repair, or down for Covid, or what, but it wasn’t working. But the rest of the pool, the slide, and games were working and beautiful and very enjoyable. I’m definitely being nitpicky about any negatives I have there because overall the place is truly fantastic and would love to return again. I highly recommend it, unless being in a secluded house on is own away from anyone at all is what you’re looking for. It’s really hard to tell by the listings that this is a condo type layout, but they are separated well, and extremely nice, and wasn’t an issue whatsoever. Plenty of absolutely beautiful views of sunsets and even areas built just to watch sunsets with benches. Loved it! Would love to return again, and well worth a five star rating.
We’ve stayed multiple times at Stablewood Springs - it’s beautiful and always a perfect getaway
We loved it!
Gorgeous House with amazing views!
Property was clean and nice. Relaxing area. Only having an option to swim for a two hour window that was scheduled was a little tricky. But that was due to Covid. All and all a great experience and trip.
We absolutely loved this place! We had a major delay at check in (the property was overwhelmed). We called our individual property manager, Jan, and she was great. She went above and beyond to help us. Everything else about the stay was perfect. We liked it so much we stayed an extra day and will be back again.
