Stayed Mar 28, 2021Our overall experience with Canyon Villas/Desert Ridge Marriott Resort was good. We traveled during spring break and it was busy. The process of renting through vrbo was quick and easy. The resort was nice and clean. Any issues we had were mainly with the resort itself and more the JW Marriott resort and not Canyon Villas. We tried to use the main Marriott resort pool/lazy river and were told they had blockout dates so we could not use it. We later learned everyone from Canyon Villas was walking over to use it and we did too. Not sure why they told us we did not have access, but then did not enforce it. If this is going to continue to be an issue they should update the listing and Canyon Villa website. Also, due to covid they had removed pool chairs from both pools, yet they were not restricting pool access at either resort so you were left laying on your towel on cement or grassy areas. Doesn’t make sense to remove chairs but allow everyone access. Might as well keep the chairs so we at least have somewhere to sit comfortably. We liked this resort but after living in the Valley for 8 years we know there are nicer/more accommodating resorts and will likely stay at one of those next time.
